OK, I keep hearing about how talented Dallas is from the media. Can anyone tell me what makes them so much more talented than other teams?

I dont see where the actual talent measures up to the media hype.

Dont get me wrong. Im not saying they dont have talent. Im just saying, so do other teams. So, what makes Dallas so much better?

What USC said as well as:

A Huge good run blocking unit on the offensive line.
Marcus Spears
Bradie James

All of those are good, better than average nfl player quality.. (Except I wouldn't list Choice, good behind the line nothing more than a backup though)

Their big issue is terrible coaching. A constantly underachieving head coach, although he is a good DC. Along with a OC who falls in love with passes for some reason and has been questionable for 2 years.

Philadelphia:
QB- Vick and then also Kolb, so they have depth
RB- LeSean McCoy. The dont go 3 deep but only one guy can get the ball.
WR- DeSean Jackson
WR- Jeremy Maclin
TE- Brent Celek
DE- Trent Cole
DE- Brandon Graham
OLB- Ernie Sims
CB- Asante Samuel
S- Nate Allen

I guess I dont see a massive difference.

the nfc east IS overrated, but what the cowboys have on both offense and defense should make them a contender to at LEAST make the playoffs.. but they can't execute for crap right now.

I don't see it either. All those players you listed aren't all pro's by any means. I think it's a product of the media. Right now they're sucking but wait until they win one game then the hype is back on again they'll once again be one of the top teams in football according to the media of course. Every year its the same thing.

Im not saying they suck or even that theyre not good. But I am saying that the hype doesnt measure up with their actual talent.

Not even close to Romo. Vick is an awful passer, don't be fooled by him torching the Lions. Kolb has started only 3 games and he looked awful against the Packers
RB- LeSean McCoy. The dont go 3 deep but only one guy can get the ball.
Average RB at best
WR- DeSean Jackson
WR- Jeremy Maclin
TE- Brent Celek
Bad blocker, but a great pass catcher
DE- Trent Cole
DE- Brandon Graham
[BTalented rookie, his size deficiency hurts him[/B]
OLB- Ernie Sims
LMAO. He was a bust w/ the Lions
CB- Asante Samuel
Awful, awful tackler. His best attribute are his ball skills
S- Nate Allen
He's talented, but he's a rookie.
I guess I dont see a massive difference.

FWIW, I was likewise amused at some of the names you listed from Dallas except I didnt resort to the posturing.

QB Tony Romo-- You overrate him massively. He's good but not good enough to carry the team by passing as much as they do. Thats a coaching criticism but its also a reflection of Romo as a passer.
RB Marion Barber-- Id take McCoy.
RB Felix Jones-- Again, only one RB can carry the ball.
RB Tashard Choice-- See above.
WR Miles Austin-- He's good.
WR Dez Bryant-- What has he done?
TE Jason Witten-- He's good.
OLB DeMarcus Ware-- Good
OLB Anthony Spencer-- Has been coming on more recently but hasnt come around enough to justify being listed like youve done.
NT Jay Ratliff-- He's good
CB Terrence Newman-- He's good, but not great.
CB Mike Jenkins -- See above

I understand the Bears just beat them, but I think this entire thread needs to make a move to All Sports.

Guys, it's the stripper poles, plain and simple. :D

They don't need talent. They are AMERICA's team!

And to add one very important note to all this the media and most all sportswriters look the Cowboys and Jerry. So even if there bad there good.

Just like this last week end the Bears couldn't beat the Cowboys ask any sportswriter and they will tell the Cowboys lost that game not that the Bears won.

Jay Cutler is a big time talent and when he's on, any team he plays for can be really dangerous. He has more talent than Romo. But he hasnt been consistent.

But what plays into it is that the media piled on to Cutler so much that when he has a game where he's on, its like acknowledging that he's a big time talent is like admitting they were wrong when piling on. And the media, especially the east coast media, isnt really into admitting theyre wrong or giving up a punching bag.

It certainly seems like a coaching problem to me as well.

Austin and Bryant are both incredibly talented receivers.

Barber is a great, bruising runner. Jones is a home run threat at all times.

The problem is partially that Romo is a bit overrated, and seems to struggle hitting his targets. The other part is their refusal to run the ball.

I would say that their second tier players aren't quite as good as the elite teams, but they do have a lot of front line talent. Their coaches just can't seem to figure out how to use it.
