This seems to be a stacked tackle draft.

LT
Christian Darrisaw
Rashard Slater (played both right & left)
Sam Cosmi
Alex Leatherwood
Teven Jenkins (played both right & left)
Alijah Vera-Tucker

RT
Jalen Mayfield

I did a couple of mock drafts (3 rounds) and the one I liked the best was:
1. Jenkins at 22 plus Tennessee's 2nd next year - TEN took Vera-Tucker at 20
2. Kellen Mond at 52
3. Liam Eichenburg at 83

I could live with that....

This draft could allow Mond to sit for a year, help Dalton this year, and the extra 2nd rounder to help with WR next year.....

Jenkins in the first, Leatherwood in the 2nd. Make an investment in the OL and make a push for Wilson next year or sell the farm and trade up for one next year.

I think with OL you can kinda look at the unit as a whole when you think about changing pieces. For instance, when we put Mustipher at center the whole line got a lot smarter.

So if you put Jenkins at RT the whole line gains aggression.

If you put Darrisaw at LT, if he’s even available, I worry about the ripple effect of a player whose effort level has been called into question.

There are actually plenty of guys in 2 or 3 like Leatherwood, Christensen, Radunz, Jaimes, etc., so I think forcing tackle in 1 would be a mistake. Draft for impact at 20.

Honestly though, we need to trade up and take a damn QB.

I would like to see Jenkins in the 1 and trade back in to the 4th round and get Spenser Brown. To me, you could plug Jenkins in at RT day 1 and groom Brown to be your LT1 later this year or next. Hopefully we would have bookends for the next 10 years.

Throwing my two sense into this... :p

I do want to get a LT with the 20th...

IF Bears don't trade up to get a QB... which I want Pace to do.

But I read a couple mock analyses that said there won't be an OL worth a 20th pick.

If that's the case, then don't reach and get a good CB or OLB/DE/NT.

There are no QBs worth thinking about next year.

As of now, there are no QBs that look like Lawrence. But that doesn't mean there won't be. Zack Wilson was a mid round guy until he had a great year last year. Mac Jones was the placeholder between Tea and Bryce Young (or whoever wins the job for fall 2021), but now he's one of the big 5. Joe Burrow wasn't expected to light it up and win the National Championship last year, but he won the Heisman, top pick in the draft, we all know the story. He did all that after he transferred because he couldn't beat out Justin Fields.

We don't know what will happen next year. Statistically, likely to be leaner than this year for QBs, but only because this class has a lot of top performing QBs. But there will be some, and there may well be one who is not highly rated but is a great fit for Matt Nagy's (or the new HC) system, and fits well with the Bears.

One concern for me is Jenkins footwork, he tips pass plays that won't fly in the NFL he needs some work.
