Must be able to figure out Ys and place emphasis on the team becoming a family, because that's real.

It would be interesting to see what an actual interview would look like. It makes me think of some clips that I've seen of the NFLN. On these shows analysist and former coaches have QB prospects break down game film on the fly.
It would be nice to see the team use the strategy in Coaching interviews. For example, select some film from the last few seasons, and have them analyze the film in the interview, discussing how they would have done things differently, or what adjustments they would have made at half. Halftime adjustments are crucial to win games, and it seems that past coaching staff lacked on that.
That's one aspect - football acumen and the application of knowledge in real time. The other is strong leadership, not to be confused with ego leadership. It's holding everyone accountable, starting with the coach himself. I want to see a guy who leads from the front and won't ask his players to act or be any way he's not willing to act or be.

I want a GM who will have the vision to act like a GM, not like a player personnel guy operating from a higher bubble in the org chart. Pace was the latter. He apparently had no strategic vision on how to put together and sustain a football team. He fell in love with guys in the draft and traded up way too often to get them. Some worked out; some didn't. But they all cost draft capital that wasn't recovered. The Bears need a GM who takes a high-level view on assembling a football team. My sense is Pace never had that high-level vision; he only had a player personnel guy type of vision.

I want a HC that acts as a HC, not as someone who focuses on the offense or defense. Look at the recent history. A HC who oversees the defense and leaves the offense to the OC, followed by a HC who oversees the offense and leaves the defense to the DC, followed by another HC who oversees the defense and leaves the offense to the OC, and finally by another HC who oversees the offense and leaves the defense to the DC. I want a HC who delegates operation of the offense to the OC, delegates operation of the defense to the DC, leaves special teams to the ST coach, and then oversees everything. Put another way, I want another Mike Tomlin...

For me it's the same for both candidates:

I want a clear and specific plan to get long term excellence at the QB position. Not just stability. I want to know what's their plan to get elite top 10 QB play permanently at that position.

That means:

How do you plan on developing and supporting Fields?
How do you identify if Fields is the answer?
How long do you give him?
What's your plan if he isn't the answer?
How do you keep long term excellence at the position?

These are the first things I'm asking. If a coach or a GM can't give clear and specific answers I'd end the interview there.
Nice questions...but who's asking these?? The "I'm just a fan guy"?...point is that the answers don't really matter when the answers are falling on deaf and dumb ears.

In my opinion, what this org needs is a strong, assertive personality who has 'street cred' in the NFL and can tell George and Mama to get the fuck out of the way or continue on your carousel of failure.

Essentially, they need someone like "Quint" from the movie Jaws or Harry Stamper from Armageddon who can go in there and throw it all down with a big number attached to it so it would make it hurt if they come out of their 'fanzone' and want to play corporate heavies again.

I can't imagine having a Chairman publicly say that they essentially know nothing about their own business. I've held CEO positions and operated my own corporations, and I still have trouble processing what Georgie said last week in public.

Now, who this person is, I have no idea, but y'all who are NFL junkies should know a couple names.

What's important to me is we get this GM/HC hires right this time. We need to avoid another Jay Cutler situation where the QB has to learn a new system almost every year,

To me it’s pretty simple. A GM that is an excellent talent evaluator and a HC that can game plan, scheme and good at in game adjustments.

I don’t care who the GM is, as long as his initials are RS

I want a GM who knows how to put together an organization. He needs to be able to get talented people into roles that can sustain success.

The HC needs to be the same. We need a HEAD COACH. Not a coordinator with the title of head coach. Not a guy who wants to focus on being a specialist, but a guy who can lead and oversee an entire football team. A good head coach will be a leader of men...both players and staff. He will be able to build a talented staff and develop the players and team to get the best out of them.

No more guys trying to show their genius, or outsmart the rest of the league in either position.

Leadership, creativity on the offensive side of the ball for HC. GM just needs to find one guy in the organization who knows how to identify what a good football player looks like. I'd be happy with a few hires and content with just about everyone else. There are no candidates on my x list outside of Flores due to perceived lack of leadership qualities (which, I admit, could be false).

I want a gm who understands value. And I'm setting the bar pretty low, like don't sign Mike Glennon and if you wake up from a four day drunk and realize you signed him at least make sure it wasn't for $16 mil.

I want a GM who is willing to invest the majority of the organization's resources on the offensive side of the ball. I want a HC (Daboll) who comes from a background on the offensive side of the ball and who can maximize the considerable talents of Fields. The modern NFL is about scoring points. Almost all of the rules favor the O. The Bears' DNA has been defense for almost all of the team's history. This needs to change. I'm exhausted trying to win games 17-14. I'd love to see a modern NFL offense with perimeter weapons and an aggressive passing game capable of winning games 34 to 24 or 41 to 33.

I think Daboll is the perfect fit considering what has happened with Buffalo and Josh Allen the past few years. Harbaugh is a close second in my mind. I would be thrilled with either as HC, honestly.

I want a GM and head coach that actually understand what it takes to win football games in the NFL in the 21st century.

It always feels like we're behind the good teams in the league. Not just in the standings, but in what they're doing on and off the field to be successful. Look at what people who watched tape about Nagy's offense said. They mentioned things like how no one runs these kinds of plays/routes in the NFL anymore(among other damning things they said about his offense).

The Bears emulate successful NFL teams like Eastern European countries emulate the US. They're always 10 years behind. No more fucking wildcat. No more calling formations and plays like it's 19-fucking-99. I want innovation. I want opposing teams to be guessing what we're doing, and how we're going to attack them. I want the Bears to be the leaders in positive categories, not just the leaders in penalties and "understanding the whys".

The Bears are like people that watch the shopping network and buy all that shit. They’re always looking for that “gimmick” guy who’s got this killer system that will revolutionize football…
