Why did Bruce Bochy go to Rangers?

Do they have tons of money or a history with him somewhere?

That was a time to be pro-active.

I could see them wanting to transition from an old guy after previous mistake, but Bochy is considered one of the greatest over achieving GMs of all time.

I would think the interest should have been mutual.

Ozzie seems like the same mistake.
Bochy was the only name I have heard that would make me happy besides Konerko.

There were news reports that Espada was going to be the new manager. I believe that Espada accepted the job on the condition that if Dusty retires and they offer the Stros job to him he will take it. It also makes sense that the Sox continued to interview others like Ozzie.
