its a minor league deal and a ST invite. he isnt good anymore and we get that. the catcher position in baseball is very weak let alone backup catchers. i mean he or any of our potential backups are nowhere near the awesome david ross.

I like the signing. Zero risk, very tiny upside, Could be good enough possibly as the backup catcher. Also allows Nieto to stay in the minors for an additional year to become the everyday catcher in 2016. Plus move from that standpoint alone.
