1st of many dominos.

White Sox acquired OF Brandon Jacobs from the Red Sox for LHP Matt Thornton.
Jacobs, a 22-year-old outfielder, was a 10th round selection by the Red Sox in the 2009 draft. In 81 games this season at High-A Salem, he hit .244/.334/.440 with 11 homers, 44 RBI and 10 stolen bases. He possesses plenty of raw talent, but has been slow to develop and is still a few years away from contributing at the big league

Nice young player with some talent, power and ability to steal bases.

Hear #chisox payment to #redsox is in 6 figures. So boston pays vast majority of $3.5M or so to go on matt thornton pay.

Nice pickup was really not expecting much for Thornton Thornton gave us some great years when he wasn't being used as a closer or being used in positions he's not comfortable with...going to miss him but really happy for the prospect we got. Maybe 2014 callup

I know he's really young and slowly developing but wouldn't mind giving him some big league ABs this september if Rios and De Aza are traded and depending on who else we acquire. Use this year to see how he'd react to the bigs if he can show something in our minors over the next month.

Our Minor League guru, @JonathanMayoB3 , said Jacobs will be the No. 7 current prospect among the White Sox Top 20
