Could the Cubs and Astros potentially swap catchers?

The MLB Winter meetings are right around the corner. With that being said both the Cubs and Astros are in talks with top free agent catchers.

Do you guys think Vazquez is a good candidate to replace Contreras as the Cubs everyday backstop?

In house is the best option. Gomes and Higgins. Higgins can nab some 3B as needed to add a RH bat to the line up.

So I see it as hold the deck until Amaya promotes.

The #1 job of a catcher is managing the pitching staff. Both have history with the pitchers. Higgins has caught many of them via the minors. Everything else is just add on stuff. Throw block hit. They are great and all but getting the best out of the staff is #1 concern.
