For me, they are the best and it’s not even close. I started out as a huge fan of another group until I was 11 and then one particular Friday even I was watching Don Kirchner’s Rock Concert and the had Led Zeppelin on. That was it for me. The next morning I asked my older sister to look thru her records and took out the Zeppelin ones and started listening to them all. It was an awakening of sorts because I know I had to have heard them before but seeing them play live was Incredible.

I first heard "The Scream" towards the end of Battle of Evermore and then immediately heard When The Levee Breaks and was hooked.

Obviously.

To me it’s the way they mix the songs on their albums as well. For example, I love Ac/Dc, but they are just straight ahead rock and roll. I love it. I just like the versatility that Led Zeppelin brings. I still remember the day I heard “It’s Not Unusual” by Tom Jones in the late 60s and I just loved the song with its great guitar work. It was a clue.

That's funny because I always thought that Death Grips was the best rock band of all time. I will have to check out some of this "Led Zeppelin" though. Thanks in advance if I really like them.

Either Death Grips or Black Pumas....I can't decide.

Beatles are a boy band.

I would agree with their earlier stuff which is still good. They also played their own instruments. Then they evolved with their later stuff.

Can't really say the same for New Kids On the Block the Backsync Boys.

Here's this Millennials favorite Led Zeppelin song.

Can't say I have a favorite. I heard Stairway for the first time in a very long time and forgot how good that song actually is when you don't get fatigued from hearing it every 10 seconds on the radio.

Page and Jones knew so much about the studio.

Page and Jones knew so much about the studio.
They both were very well adapted to the studio life. Jones even arranged the strings for the Stones song “ She’s like a Rainbow” among many others.
Jones has stated that, as a session musician, he was completing two and three sessions a day, six and seven days a week. However, by 1968 he was feeling burned out due to the heavy workload: "I was arranging 50 or 60 things a month and it was starting to kill me."

Obviously this is a very subjective topic, but while I'm a fan of Zeppelin, I prefer a few bands over them.

They have quite a few songs I just can't get into. Whether it's the pace, energy, or whatever, they just don't do it for me. I get it might be done well musically, but I'm not a musician, so I just go off of how it sounds to me. There are a few songs I like, but then they throw like a minute of moaning in the middle of the song, and it kinda kills it for me. Like in Whole Lotta Love or Dazed and Confused. I really like those songs, but that 1-2 minutes that they throw in there in the middle throws it off for me.

I honestly can't even pick who I think the best band of all-time is. I just have bands I love, bands I like, bands that I think have a good song here and there, and bands I don't listen to at all.

I am gonna have to call b.s. on zep.
Gonna have to say Queen.

Freddy Mercury embodied the rock and roll front man.

Beyond that, queens musical style was far more varied and their sound was much more polished.

Head to head skills, Bonham beats Taylor and page beats may..sure.

But the sum is greater than the parts with queen and Freddie has possibly the all time greatest rock voice. His clarity and pitch are beyond compare.

Zep is legendary for sure, but if i am allowed to put one band in a time capsule to be opened 1000 years from now, queen has the greater body of work, better sound, and is the prime example of rock and roll showmanship.

*disclaimer- neither is in my top faves...more of a metal head.
My opinion is solely based on range, showmanship, and polish.
Zeppelin and their rougher sound and lesser production slides towards the edge of hard rock in their time period.
Queen sits solidly center of rock and roll imo.
