Why is Josh Bellamy still on this team?!

How many game losing drops does he have to have before Foxy/Pace cuts his sorry ass?!

Tanner Gentry. And we would have a "W" here.

Per Rotoworld:

Josh Bellamy - WR - Bears

Bears WR Josh Bellamy caught 3-of-4 targets for 27 yards in the team's Week 1 loss to Atlanta.

Bellamy turned in his patented end-zone drop on Chicago's final drive of the game.
Bellamy stands to benefit if Kevin White (wrist, shoulder) misses any time as the Bears' third receiver behind Deonte Thompson and Kendall Wright. Still, we don't have high expectations for Chicago's wideout corps as a unit with Mike Glennon quarterbacking a decidedly run-first offense.

Sep 10 - 4:46 PM

Bring on Gentry!

"Decidedly run-first offense"

40 pass attempts, 4 sacks, 19 rushing attempts

Also, Bellamy was held on that play.

Not sure you can put that on him. He got held (he also was guilty of hands to the face against the defender).

Bellamy is actually a good route runner. He gets open. But he has really bad hands...

Bellamy actually had a solid game. He was held on that play and the ball was at his fingertips. Not exactly an easy catch to make. Can't fault anybody for that.

He runs great routes and is overall a solid receiver when he doesn't drop it. If he can maintain better hands, he has value on the team.

That was a tough catch for any WR.

Also, he is on the team because he is better than White. The real question should be is : Why is White on the team?

Tanner Gentry would've caught the ball and impregnated it at the afterparty.

Somebody really should catch a pass in the end zone. This was an epic "FAIL."

You can't blaming Bellamy for that play.

Check his reach for it and the way he tries to catch it. The guy just isn't a WR. He's got the hands of a DB.

His 3 catches were all clutch on 3rd and 4th down. Our earlier drives would have stalled without him. Endzone drop he was held, but yeah it sucks he couldn't haul it in although it was a tough play. We need to find a true redzone threat. Because we don't have a "jump up and go get it" WR or a quick slot guy that can make moves in limited space unless Wheaton comes back from the dead and can be quick. All I know is the WR's would look better with Trubisky in there because of better accuracy and the ability to buy time with his feet.

Bellamy should've never seen the field even though I thought he balled out. Don't blame him for shit this game. Top 3 WRs are hurt, he stepped up enough to get it to the redzone

Seems odd to make this thread after he made a couple of clutch catches and even a super important 4th down catch.

He had a good day overall but that last non catch can be made by good Rs most of the time. One of those clutch catches was cradled as it went passed his hands. I jnow he worked his butt off this off season to catch better but he's just not a natural catcher.
