Obviously, Vince Evans... Excerpt from his Wiki page.

Evans is the only player of the Bears to score a perfect quarterback rating in a game, doing so against the Green Bay Packers in 1980, completing 18 of 22 passes for 316 yards and three touchdowns. The game marked the first time since 1970 that a Bears quarterback threw for more than 300 yards.[2]

My grandma got me watching football when I was 9 in 84. Didn't have a team, but liked Marino, liked the rams and Bengals uniforms, and hated the 49ers. She was and still is a Cowboys fan at 93.

The Bears came out and smoked em both to start the season and I said Hey Grandma - my favorite team is the Chicago Bears!

Never looked back

At this point I’m pretty sure it’s self loathing.

I'm a Bears fan because I was born in Chicago.

If you grow up in Chicago you root for the White Sox and the Bears. That's the way it is.

I've met more Sox fans since moving to Indiana than I did living on the South Side.

I live in Italy and this question "why are you bears fan" could be interesting for you.

I started to play basketball when i was a baby (7-8 years old) and i fell in love for Michael Jordan and the Bulls that i watched on tv win the first championships (whit a delay on five or six days, but there wasn't internet yet)

When i came back from the school, in Italy we had a TV show in the afternoon called Coast to Coast that contains highlights of NBA, NHL & NFL Games. The other Chicago franchise capture my attention, the Bears of Erik Kramer & Rashaan Salaam.
I watched the show every monday to see the highlights of the Bears, but the channel where "Coast to Coast" is schedule suddenly became a Pay TV Channel and i couldn't watch at it anymore

Fast forward of about a dozen years, Super Bowl 2006.
I heard the news from a national TV about the super bowl. The main reason was the mantra that they tells every SuperBowl "l'america si ferma" ("USA stops during the Super Bowl"), but they capture my attention with the name of the two contenders, the Colts and the Bears. BEARS!!
They lit up a memory.
I watched the game with a streaming site.
At 1.00 AM Devin Hester return the kickoff for a TD , the Bears played great and seems in control.. and then i fell asleep. The next day i went to work and I saw the result, but from the next September since today i watched EVERY Bears game.

From that day, ONE playoff win.

It's my fault

Watching every game in 1984/85 at 13 thinking that this team is gonna win the super bowl. The next year they did. Thought that they would win again in 86/87 and then just watched every game but 5 since then. Living through the misery of the 90’s the Lovie years were fantastic and now... just watching because of all the years of watching. It is a struggle sometimes watching this team

80's baby born in the hoods of Chicago. TV's were getting shot at on sundays and people were drunk before noon, all that on many Sundays.

I saw a young freshman place kicker hit a 40 yd field goal that helped defeat the Grambling tigers.

Later, that kicker was moved to running back where all sorts of amazing things happened.

Then it happened. My mom was a graduate assistant. One day she had boxes of papers that needed sorted for the psychology department and it just so happened that some members of the Jackson State team were among the student helpers assigned her. One day I walk in to my home and sitting on the floor in our den playing with my little brother is none other than Walter Payton!!!!
My heart jumped out of my chest. I was speechless, but Walter was really cool. He talked to us kids as if he'd known us his whole life.

Even after that day if you saw him walking from practice he would speak to you as if you were a long time friend.

I remember making Heisman signs for him, though I had no idea the concept of divisions and what not. The things he did on the football field were amazing.

I made a promise to root for whichever team drafted him.

So that made me a Chicago bears fan ever since. They drafted the great Walter Payton from Jackson State.

And I think JSU plays Grambling today...

When you're the coach, GM, and owner, it's not like the buck didn't stop with him though.

They won in the strangest manner. JSU fumbled inside the GSU 2, ahead by 5. GSU then drove 98 yards only to fumble at the JSU goal line.

I watched the end of the first half and bit of the beginning of the second half. They definitely look like they can get better. I saw a very inconsistent pass rush, an underwhelming wide-receiving corps, an offensive line that couldn't move Grambling off the ball when they were trying to run early in the second half.
