It is certainly possible, but it is not yet ripe for speculation. He has reps at tackle and guard (and an injury history that says you need a competitive backup anyway) and he could very well compete for both in the offseason, under the idea of getting your best 5 out there.

I personally think that his on field success at guard should be built upon, and let him continue at RG. When he was healthy, he was doing well enough that he'd be penciled in as the obvious starter were it not for his injuries.

Draft Skoronski and see what he can do at RT if you don't like what you see you put Jenkins there and Skoronski at LG.
Exactly! Skoronski is easily the most NFL ready lineman and I think he’ll excel at RT!

Wow the depth in this draft must really suck, the Best tackle in the draft should be a guard or RT?

Hate to say it, but we almost need Jenkins to be able to fill the RT spot, because taking a RT/guard at #9 makes no sense at all.

This fuckin narrative about not taking a RT at 9 is idiotic. The best pass rushers in the game come from the right side just as much as they do the left.

But not tackles with 23 inch arms.

Remember when Frank Omiyale was every line coach's wet dream because of long arms?
Taken in the 5th round vs the first. Great comparison.

It wasn't really a comparison, just a memory about importance of arm length I thought was funny.

I don't know shit about any prospect anymore.

Long arms don't mean you're going to be a good tackle, but there are very, very few tackles with sub 33 inch arms, and there's a reason for that. Skoronski will be a very good guard. I think he's very over rated as a tackle prospect. He is a great run blocker but his lack of arm length shows up on film and I don't think he has great feet or balance in space. He's great in a phone booth. You're talking about a top 10 pick. He will struggle at tackle in the NFL.

Some of his issues show up here:

Paris Johnson is a much better tackle prospect.

I think those days are gone. The Giants picked Evan Neal #7 last year and played him at RT. The Lions took Penei Sewell #7 the year before and played him at RT. McGlinchey some years before that. 2018 saw G Quenton Nelson go #6 and RT Mike McGlinchey go #9.

Or if you need to look at it another way, maybe Poles grabs Paris Johnson and immediately slots him in at LT, kicking Brax to the right, which is fine too.

you almost have to admire the Chicago Bears hiring multiple head coaches and general managers over the course of like 20 years and they still can't draft offensive linemen that aren't plagued with injuries. this dude is like a more useful Chris Williams in that he's actually seen the field. but jesus christ

Cronin's quote of Getsy saying Tevon will compete at RT is big IMO!

Was there any seriousness to the pre-season scuttle that he really wants to be a T > G? He certainly kicked ass at G tho, so drafting Paris, etc. wouldn't be bad.

Fuck that. Don’t want no Packer lovin T Rex….

^ NO on Scronski. People overlook that he's a lifelong Packerbacker cheesehead fuck, even though he's from CHI. Double whammy IMO.
Triple when you consider the arm length ?

I'm sure they'll draft or FA a G at some point who can take over at LG for Whitehair.
They better draft one of these Centers too!

Skoronski is only considered a "RT or Guard" by stupid meatballs because he has short arms. He's a T-Rex.

But his bloodlines are legendary, like literally, his gramps won 4 superblows for the fudgers. His pops played tackle at Stanwhored.

His feet are majestic. His feet and hands are like a boxer. He's just a T-rex ;(

The whole concept that a RT and LT are of equal value is idiotic, because if you look at the salaries, it is obvious that the League values Left over Right for a reason, because even if the best pass rushers line up on the right the right handed QBs can actually see them coming...

If any of the Superstar RTs could play play on the left, they would....

Teams that draft a tackle in the top ten, and then play them on the right or at guard, typically do it out of necessity.

Now if the Bears think that Skoronski can overcome his shorter arms with hand and footwork, they will play him on the left, but if they think he can only play Guard or RT, it WILL reduce his value on the draft board.....
