Would we even consider Michael Mayer?

If we trade down to around 7-8 do we consider him over the tackles?

They talked about him on the radio as being compared to Kittle. Could be used as a WR even.

I would probably go line but I could see them pulling the trigger as a major weapon to give Fields.

Not in the top ten. I'd love him at the end of the first round I just don't see anything special about him as a prospect.

Not sure it's realistic but he's often available in the top of my second and third round mocks on both websites.

Ive seen him available early 2nd but never the 3rd. He’s one of the most pro ready players out there. Hearing that KC wants him to eventually replace 34yr old Kelce

Well hopefully we'll have more picks and be in a better position than KC.

Michael Myers could not get injured no matter how many times they tried. So he would be available for all games!

In all seriousness, I think Mayer is a pretty good at pass protection

As a blocker, Mayer has good functional strength, effective hand punch, and does well to sustain his base—he appears more pro-ready in this regard than most college tight end prospects.

If the Bears draft Mayer in the top 10, I will literally eat all of the Taco Bell Chalupas my body can hold, and then take a giant wet shit in the middle of SF.

Green Bay will pick him up at 15. Bears need to prioritize d line, Oline, and wr before they should be thinking about TE.

Absolutely not. None of these first round tight ends ever work out and if they do, it takes 3/4 years. Easy pass.

That’s pretty typical for most people in San Francisco

Agree on positional value. TEs still have to block and chip and unless they are unstoppable forces aka Kelce/Gronk in the passing game its difficult to value a TE in the top half of the first.

Everything depends on what holes are filled in FA, then what picks could be acquired in potential draft trade(S). Finally, it would have to be the Bears 2nd or 3rd pick. He definitely has huge dual-threat value (blocker/receiver) and I'd love to pair him with Kmet in 2-TE sets, which I think we'd see a ton.

Surprised nobody has called him 'Baby Gronk' yet. Kmet and Shaheen were also baby gronks since they were white tight ends.
If the Bears do draft him, will he be called, "Baby Shaheen"?

So... you like him?

Gates/Kelce/Witten/Gronkowski

None of them ran faster than 4.5. Gates ran a 4.5. Only Gonzalez ran faster a 4.5 at a 4.49. 40 time is incredibly overrated for a TE

Rather get Brock Bowers a year later if you're gonna spend a 1st round pick on a tight end.
