Yes, I think the prequels were basically all trash

Meh.

All of the Star Wars movies are kind of trashy. Take away all of the technological advancements and Star Wars was not much better of a script than a lot of the other bad Sci-Fi that got really popular in the 70s. My favorite part of the original movie is how Carrie Fisher starts the movie with a pronounced British accent and ends the movie sounding like she is the Princess of Atlantic City.

I like all of the movies, I just found Episode One to be the least necessary of the lot. We probably did not have to go that far back in time for Anakin's story. Kind of like Godfather III. Not a terrible movie, just felt very unnecessary to the overall story being told.

It is hard to label your movies as Episodes IV, V, and VI and then never make Episodes I, II, and III.

May have been a mistake by Lucas, but either way, eventually I, II, and III were going to get made.

Absolutely.

George Lucas should have maybe hired better screenwriters, but I still enjoyed the prequels anyhow. I got genuine chills when they first put the suit on the charred remains of Anakin Skywalker.

And it would be so glorious that it could have been further continued, and not this constant origin / reboot shit.

I would like to remake Dragonball Evolution (2009) and make it even more white.

Speaking of which...for the television version of this thread, I would fix TV's greatest injustice and actually cast Bruce Lee in Kung Fu over the white guy that was in that Tarintino flick and then died while masturbating.

Fun idea for a thread.

I'm going to go with one of my favorites, Neil Simon's Murder By Death. It's from 1976, and it's a spoof of Murder Mystery novels. It was an ensemble cast that had some fun spoofs and traps (for 1976) that happened. If I'm recasting, and I'll put the original cast in parentheses.
Lionel Twain (Truman Capote): Toby Jones
Jammesir Bensonmum (Alec Guinness): Malcolm McDowell
Yetta (Nancy Walker): Frances McDormand
Sidney Wang (Peter Sellers): Jackie Chan
Willie (Richard Narita): Randall Park
Milo Perrier (James Coco): Vincent Cassell
Marcel Cassette (James Cromwell): Arme Hammer
Sam Diamond (Peter Falk): George Clooney
Tess Skeffington (Eileen Brennan): Margot Robbie
Dick Charleston (David Niven): Colin Firth
Dora Charleston (Dame Maggie Smith): Helen Bonham Carter
Jessica Marbles (Elsa Lanchester): Dame Maggie Smith
Miss Withers (Estelle Winwood): Dame Judi Dench

Mine is "Priest". I actually like the movie but it was supposed to be a franchise. I love the lead. I just like that actor. They could do som much with it so Im hoping they relive it

I would re-make the Assassin's Creed movie, but do it as a TV series.

It was pretty awful, and I love the game series.

I swear every video game to movie adaptation they take the least compatible parts of the game and try to shovel them into the movie.

Imagine if instead of adapting the 3 books of LOTR into movies, they adapted the video games.

So while telling fundamentally the same story, it was all from this odd (video game) perspective and it was 90% action with little to zero narration or character development.

Idk why the idea is so hard.... take the story and adapt it into a movie.... don't take the actual video game and try to adapt it into a movie.

Also IMO video game stories adapt far better to a TV format... video games have missions... they are already sort of episodic.

The Witcher, while not based off the games, but rather off the book material, is pretty well done.

I think Assassin's Creed could be done well as a TV series with hour long episodes.... one season to cover one game/time period.

this was my idea before that movie came out...toooooooo late now...they done ruined an tv series idea. I believe Desmond's (+rebecca&shawn's) story & the whole Abstergo Animus stuff would have to be the main plot point throughout most of the series, but Edward Kenway, Blackbeard and the entire crew (Adéwalé, Mary Reed, Anne Bonny, Charles Vane, etc,.) is a must do, possibly two season alone. Although, i have ideas for a God of War series, I know the perfect person to play as Kratos, he's not a major celebrity tho, he's low key right now.

#1 - My first and foremost idea would be to ... bring Andy Whitfield back to life some-fuckin-how and let him finish up Spartacus as Spartacus..the original plan was a 7 seasons series promise from Starz...more John Hannah & Viva Bianca needed also.
HeftyFineIcterinewarbler-size_restricted.gif

BUT no doubt, Liam McIntyre did a damn amazing job replacing Andy Whitfield as Spartacus.

#2 REVIVE THE CHAPPELLE SHOW. NUFF SAID.

I would also remake the last season of G.o.T. plus, Finish up and complete Carnivale, Da Vinci Demons, Jericho, My Name is Earl, The Riches, & WATCHMEN.

I am remaking Star Wars Episode one.

Here is how I am doing it. I am going to use old school technology and grit. It will not look polished, digital, new, or shiny.

I am getting rid of all the big name actors and Jar Jar, rewriting all of the dialog, but keeping the same intense light saber fight scenes and the same intense racing/action scenes. In the re-shooting of the movie I do not want that digital look at all. Save that for a new movie that is telling a new story, I want the story to line up with the original movie, but the action to be modernized. I am also keeping the soundtrack.

I would take it back and try to make it look like it was done in the style of the original three movies but with some better tech in the modeling, explosions, and action.

And for the love of everything get rid of Jar Jar.

Grainy is the word you're looking for. It's actually called Film Grain, my buddy is a hollywood wanna-be but it's cool tho.?‍♂️

I believe Maul had a brief cameo in the Solo movie.

I’d redo Predator vs Aliens......

Should have been much better

There would probably be no interest now but I always wanted a proper Doom movie.
Doom TV series would also be cool.

I mean even if they just took the concept of "Zombie Daemons invade Mars colony"
I'd watch that!
the movie already been done, with The Rock but i never watched it tho, there's not much DOOM story for a series IMO and it's bloody AF to do, so a premium channel like Starz or HBO would have to product the show.

Yes, I think the prequels were basically all trash. Outside the action scenes they weren't good movies in my opinion.

I give praise to the action being very good I just think they should've looked like prequels instead of shiny digital movies. Also the soundtracks were good, especially in the first, but those actors.

The acting was really stiff. I don't know why, but they failed very massively at the dialog and acting. Almost nobody was likeable or funny or remotely that interesting.

same for me man, i just don't get excited like these cats do either for star wars.
harrison ford, never liked him...too hollywood & overrated. he's an old old old ladies man. Honestly..all of of hollywood celebrities is overrated, about 85% of them suck.
The people alike Ian McShane, Zoe Saldana, Michael Kenneth Williams, Ron Perlman, Thandie Newton, Edward James Olmos, Mahershala Ali, Ed Harris, Claire Danes, Ruth Negga(AMC's Preacher) are safe in my book.

I always found the Jar-Jar hate hilarious.... as if the series wasn't built on weird settings/characters.

In general the prequel hate from the original Star Wars fans always puzzled me.

The main complaints are things like:

"I don't want to see kid Darth Vader, I liked Darth Vader!"

or

"I didn't want to see some stupid story about how things were before A New Hope"

The main complaint, of people watching the Star Wars prequels was that the prequels were prequels lol.

"I don't like that these movies are the 3 movies before the 3 movies I like!"

It is like saying "I am mad the numbers 1, 2, and 3 come before the numbers 4, 5, and 6."

I love Patton Oswalt but he has a whole rant about how mad he was about how the prequels were all about how the characters and storylines began... in his words "I don't care about where the things I like came from, I just like the things I like!"

Honestly, Episode I and III weren't that bad. Attack of the Clones is fucking horrible. Those movies would've been so much better if the dialogue weren't so dry. Part of the issue too was Darth Vader had way too much lore and backstory to really flesh out in 3 movies spanning 20ish years. The Clone Wars did a far better job expanding on all that.

I'd re-do Super Mario Bros. and just have it somewhat resemble the video game, as opposed to some dumb fuck evolution/de-evolution plot. Or Spider-Man 3 and not have a million enemies or Topher freaking Grace as Eddie Brock/Venom.

For me it’s a toss up between these 2 abortions

The Last Jedi was the best Star Wars of the final trilogy, by far. The other two were complete garbage. That whole trilogy was trash really. I think they wasted good talent on a terrible story line.
