It wasn’t pretty for the Chicago Bears in Carolina on Sunday. And after the game fans shared their displeasure on the teams performance via social media.

Fans took to Twitter, Facebook and other social media platforms to talk about the Bears poor performance and one Bears player didn’t appreciate it. Defensive end Lamarr Houston went to Twitter to respond to fans criticism of the teams poor play on Sunday.

Here is what Houston had to say:

Houston has struggled since he signed with the Bears last off-season, but should he have responded through Twitter to the fans? Let us know in the comments!

Houston is right. We don’t play the game we don’t get in the trenches. For a fan to critisize is normal but a true fan will will encourage and back the team no matter what. Yes I scream and shout all game long but I never waiver from my belief that they can turn it around

  5. Susan on October 5, 2014 9:15 pm

Lamarr had / has every right to make his comments . IF your a true fan, you will stand with your team whether they win or lose ! We can be frustrated etc. Win or lose, it takes the whole team , not just one individual to win a game .

I think it is only fair that fans be critical of players on the field. After all, it is the fans who invest money to be entertained by the players. Be it NFL Sunday Ticket, going to the bar, or going to the games. Furthermore, the players are payed absurd amouts of money to play a game. It should be expected that fans will be very critical of players and teams when they put hard earned money into watching games. Understandably, there is a winner and a loser. So not everyone will be happy all the time, but fans love seeing a team that puts it all on the field/ court/ rink. (The Bulls and Blackhawks these last few years) All being said, I’m pretty annoyed with players acting like they are the victims. Play the game, entertain, and move on.

Lamar Houston we die hard but the problem is first yall lost to the Packers n that’s hard cuz that’s the biggest rivalry n we have to hear their bullshit for a whole week while we still represent n then this week yall allow a big upset to the panthers n now we have to hear their shit n packers shit talk in about they ahead of us to a try die hard bears fan this makes us mad as hell ya u playin but not just that u represent Chicago fans remember that this might be a paycheck Idk wats ur childhood team but to us the fans this shit is serious yall have a great n beastly team but yall playin like amateurs n punks that’s why the fans are mad show us what yall can do n give us the ability to be loud n proud

I am A bears everyday of the year. But I am with Brad get some sacks Lamar and tell Jared Allen to go back to the vikings!

  9. dinesh on October 5, 2014 10:24 pm

He better shut up talking and work non game. He ain’t worth bringing with hype. Humiliation for hears fans see to loose games like college football.

  10. Pat on October 5, 2014 10:45 pm

Why does management continue to allow refs, network announcers, and nfl to continually trash everything from our sports teams to the city to all ppl. Enough is enough

  11. rod on October 6, 2014 2:07 am

He is right i bleed orange and blue and when my Bears lose the rest of my day is shot. I take the pain of a loss just like they do and will always believe. But no matter whats said in the public everybody knows we gotta and need to changes. I say to our defensive coaching staff starting with Tucker he needs to go. Our offense gave him a lead and he couldnt keep it its as simple as that. Yeah cutty throws picks but if tucker made the right calls on defense the game wouldnt been close forte couldve and wouldve finished them off on the ground and throwing when they needed too. But im only a true fan.

  12. Augustus Hampton on October 6, 2014 4:05 am

Glad to see there’s a lot of bears fan that like seeing their team lose. I love my Bears but I’m not satisfied with losing. No, I don’t play the game and neither do I get paid seven figures to win. Quit crying Lamar Houston and do what we all as bear fans know you can do and that’s put the QB flat on his ass. As for you questioning these Bear fans loyalty, you just got on this ride but we’ve been on it for years and will be here when you’re gone. If your fans criticize your game play don’t make excuses get out there and prove us wrong. I criticize my kids when I know they can do better but that don’t mean I’m not loyal to them (not saying Houston’s a kid). We know our BEARS can be contenders and we’re tired of falling short year after year. This is our year so tighten the Fuck up and leave the excuses at home or stay home with them. DA BEARS!!!

  13. Some guy named Charles on October 6, 2014 5:55 am

I disagree with the sentiment that you can’t be a true Bears fan IF you criticize their performance. Fans are like your parents. They love you to death BUT will darn sure let you know when you’re doing something wrong in no uncertain terms! Lamar should remember that he is a grown man playing a kids game and getting paid a good salary to do so. Those very fans that you criticize as never having played the game
are the same fans that help pay your salary. They’re not as stupid as your overly inflated ego would suggest. Some have played the game. Some just didn’t have the talent to make it to your level. That does not make them any less knowledgeable about the game. Definitely not a class act.

  14. Theresa medina on October 6, 2014 6:15 am

I moved to ND from Chicago. I watch my bears every game…win or loose..living up here I don’t always get to see my bears if game is not national but that’s where NFL.com comes in. I will always be a chi-town girl and a die-hard Bears fan..DA Bears!

  15. victor on October 6, 2014 7:34 am

Win lose or tie I bleed orange n blue GO BEARS MONSTERS OF THE MIDWAY

LET’S GET READY FOR THE FALCONS N GET THAT WIN.

    DA BEARS.

  16. Jamie on October 6, 2014 9:46 am

    Relax!

  17. J C on October 6, 2014 10:28 am

Less turnovers and a better pass rush in game will help our DB’s out a lot they can’t keep going without help from the Dline offense Cutler not getting pressured so it shouldn’t be interceptions thrown we should be (5-0)..

  18. christine on October 6, 2014 11:06 am

Next game awaits … time to Bear Down on the Falcon’s!!! Lets do This!!

  19. Mike genta on October 6, 2014 1:34 pm

wish I could preform at my job as bad as the Bears do theres and still make millions see how well that goes over in the real world

  20. Shirley Grubbs on October 6, 2014 3:49 pm

I GET FRUSTRATED BUT I’M FOR THE BEARS ALL THE WAY!

  21. Rick James on October 7, 2014 12:42 am

Just tired of not making the playoffs. And I know we have the better team. I believe in the Bears players offense and defense. You guys gotta put it together. And I’ll be screaming BEARDOWN all day Sunday. BEARDOWN!!!!!!!!!!
