Miguel Montero criticizes Joe Maddon following World Series

I have waited my entire life for the events of the past week and I don’t believe I could have imagined everything going down any better than it did.

Kyle Schwarber makes a return to the batters box to help lead the Cubbies back from being down 3-1.

Ross smacks one out of the yard when it was questionable if the pitching change should have happened to cause him to be in the game.

Extra innings with a quick rain delay, just for a dramatic effect.

Bryant makes the throw across the infield to Rizzo for the final out.

The parade and rally become the seventh largest human gathering ever recorded with no major problems.

Who in their right mind would’ve had a problem with the way everything went down?

I expected a couple fans of that club on the South Side to eventually get tired of it all and find a couple things the Cubs did wrong to point out, but the interview on ESPN 1000 between Waddle & Silvy with guest Miguel Montero completely caught me off guard.

Miggy made it pretty clear that he wasn’t real concerned about any consequences for his thoughts and words  of how skipper Joe Maddon handled the team down the stretch.

His biggest issue was the lack of communication between Maddon and himself.

“I think the toughest part for me is they never communicated with me,” Miguel said in the interview. “I’m a veteran guy. They talk about veteran leadership. I have 11 years in the game and two All-Star appearances. I expected to be treated a little better. I was expecting to get communication. Just let me know. Put me in the loop. That was the toughest part for me because I never understood what my role was going to be.”

I couldn’t help but say out loud what are you doing bro?

Silvy himself said after the show, “In 10 years of doing this show, that interview surprised me the most of any guy we’ve ever talked to.”

“It was different for me,” Miggy said. “It was a different emotion because I didn’t get a chance to play. I was a little disappointed, to be honest, because I felt like I did a good job in the regular season but was left out a little bit. It made me feel a little not important or maybe not as good to be in the lineup.”

I choose to believe that out of love for Harry, the players decided to drink several Budweisers, after all it is the “King of beers.” And I have definitely said some things in my life I wish I could take back while under the influence.

But how do you win a World Series and decide to cry about your lack of involvement on the field?

How do you trash the coach that took the team to the top on a radio show that you know the entire city listens to?
