Sox fall to Indians, again.

Hi, my name is Patrick Howard and I am the White Sox writer for Chicitysports.com.  My job as a writer is to full you, the reader in on what is going on with the White Sox. I usually try to say something funny or go in depth about what is going on.  If you have followed this team this year, you would know they are horrible.  They usually score 4 runs or below each game and the pitching makes you want to cry ...

Baseball Banter: BLOW IT UP!

First a quick recap of today's game. Freddy Garcia was again awesome for the Sox as he went 7 innings giving up 3 runs on 7 hits.  Freddy is now 5-3 with an era just under 5.  Freddy started the year awful but has bounced back and really has been the Sox best pithcer.  The bullpen was good tonight as Thornton and Jenks both went an inning allowing only 1 hit in the 2 innings.  On offense the Sox did it via ...

Rios and Castro too powerful for Rays

The left field fence at the Juice Box is 315 feet away from home plate.  The wall in left field is about 5 feet high.  Ramon Castro made sure that he his home run went 316 feet in distance and 5 feet 2 inches in height. The Sox came in to the game 20-27 and kind of needed a signature win to get them started. Tonight might have been that win.  The offense was good and the pitching was better, thanks to Fredd ...

Rays down White Sox In Tampa

Coming off the series win in Cleveland, the Sox had to be feeling good about themselves.  The offense had been very good the last couple of games and the bullpen was excellent! However, the Sox offense was no match for Jeff Niemann(5-0) and the Rays. Carl Crawford made quick work of Gavin Floyd as he homered to start the bottom of the first inning. There would be no scoring again until the 5th when Carl Cra ...

Baseball Banter With Patrick Howard

The White Sox have played 46 games this year and have a record of 20-26.  Coming into the year many people argued that the Sox had the best rotation.  How could you blame them when your rotation is Buehrle, Peavy, Danks, Floyd and The thought to be resurged Freddy Garcia.  However, it has been anything but great as the five starters are a combined 15-19.  The 2 aces of the team (Buehrle and Peavy) are a com ...

Buehrle ejected but Sox hold on.

Just 2.1 innings into the game Mark was ejected from the game after he got a second balk called on him.  Ozzie Guillen was also ejected and after the game said, "Joe has been like that for a lot of years, and he's always going to be like this," Guillen said, dropping several expletives throughout a rant that's certain to get a look from Major League Baseball. "I'm not going to change it, nobody is going to ...

Jake not great at the Jake.

It has been a bumpy ride thus far to say the least for Sox ace Jake Peavy.  The Tribe jumped all over Peavy in the 3rd inning.  Donald homered to make it 1-0. Choo homered to make it 2-0 and Branyan hit a single to cap off the 3 run inning for the tribe.  The Indians would have another 3 running this time in the 6th.  Peralta had an RBI double and Marson and Valbuena each had sac flies to make it 6-0 tribe. ...
