Is there a first cut 7/4? How many are allowed on that date? or are you saying two rosters of 53 each?

QB(3) Trubisky, Daniel, Bray
RB (4) Davis, Cohen, Montgomery, Nall
WR (6) Robinson, Gabriel, Miller, Wimms, Ridley, Patterson
TE (4) Burton, Shaheen, Raymond, Sowell
OL (7) Long, Leno, Whitehair, Daniels, Massie, Larson, Coward
ST (3) Pineiro, O'Donnell, Wirtel
DT (3) Goldman, Nichols, Williams
DE (3) Hicks, RRH, Bullard
OLB (5) Mack, Floyd, Lynch, Fitts, Irving
ILB (5) Smith, Trevaithon, Iggy, Kevin Piere-Louis, Kwiatkowski
S (4) Jackson, HaHa, Bush, HC
CB (5) Fuller, Prince, Skrine, Tolliver, Shelley

PS (my practice squad is way too awesome, btw...real explosive team skeleton there, can't be right but means guys like Kwiatkowski/McManis, Sowell, Nall will be out. )
RB Whyte
WR E. Hall
TE Bunting
OL Bars
S Denmark
OLB Woods
CB Joseph

There is no doubt its a tight roster...I had to axe either McManis or Kevin Piere-Louis at the last second. Or go with 7 lineman and PS stash Coward. Or just ditch Sowell.

Clearly a little wiggle room there but thats what happened there, not sure how to handle swing tackle and gunner, and the last defensive back or 3.

They’re not keeping 3 QBs or just 7 O Linemen. I think Whyte makes the 53.

We kept 8 OL last year and that's the norm or higher. Maybe one less this year with Sowell taking a TE spot and he'll do some FB blocking as well. I think Rask's OL and TE list looks good.

Not keeping 3 QBs on 1st day 53 but if they keep Whyte it will be in place of Nall. I doubt we keep more than 4 RBs. More likely we keep 6 CBs instead of 5. If that's Joseph or Denmark etc remains to be seen. I think that's where the extra QB gets used up.

Denmark may get hidden in the pre which would protect him for the PS or they will play him a lot to develop him more quickly simply because they plan on keeping him for ST is nothing else. He is exactly what you look for in kick coverage and it seems there's been a concerted effort to improve ST this year.

Hard to do this now but fun enough. In the past, our roster tended to change after final cuts but now that we actually have good players, we probably keep what we got at the 53 cut down.

We could also go with only 3 RBs, since Patterson can fill in when needed.

I think thats part of the plan. Position versatility so we can keep SOME of that young talent on the 53.

I say some because I know a few here will be wanting to place 4-5 UDFAs on the roster because "we cant risk losing them"...

True but that would simply add a WR. I don't see less than 10 across the 3 positions of FB, RB and WR. I doubt we have a FB.

probably McManis for Bray then. Unless Denmark can beat out McManis and take over special teams standout.

Originally I wanted to keep Bars on the 53, and put Mustipher on the PS, so that would be your extra lineman potentially.

And Whyte for Nall might make sense, I'd like to keep both.

and I'd like to just cut Patterson and keep E.Hall. The issue is that Patterson replaces both Whyte and E.Hall on the roster and does more than they can do. See if you can stash them.

Denmark takes out McMannis IMHO

They'll keep 7 TEs. Just to piss off this forum.

My take is that 3 TE's is only ok if you keep both Nall and Sowell rostered as hyrbid situational H-backs.

If they list Sowell as TE it could easily be 5 TE's and Braunecker/Raymond both make it, or Bunting wouldn't surprise me.

Sowell could be a coaching joke, like the day after they told Heistand he could only keep 8 OL this year he had Sowell show up as a TE or something.

They'll keep at least 8 OL.

I'm not so sure Trubisky makes the team.
