Deadwood is the greatest show ever created

You owe yourself the opportunity to watch Deadwood. If you are a fan of all things western, this one is a hit.
With The Wire, season 2 and maybe 5 were not that good. I understand the ditector had to grab the city by all fronts so he had to showcase the port. But the port is actually heavily guarded and simply not the entry for many nefarious goings on. Not to say that it doesnt happen, just not on the scale of slaves and hookers like the show delved into. But season 3 grabbed my full attention back to that show.

Do the docks give dealer bosses like Prop Joe and Marlo their stashes though?

Middle of Season 1 and I really like it.

First seasons tend to be clunky but this is not and first seasons also tend to be before any show really hits its full stride. If that holds out true for this one as well, then this is going to be one of those great shows for sure.

I like it the 2nd time around because I am finally picking up the dialect. Notice how every character has a thought but doesnt say it like you or I would.

For instance- "That man is bad and evil and I dont like him"would be something like-
"Satan runs amok through that mans soul and I refrain from entering his presence"

So every god damn line is like that and when they insult each other I find myself rewinding to figure out the really funny ones.

Or maybe I am just slow amd pea brained and most get these lines the first go-round.

Either way, I am enjoying the show as much now as when it was on in 2003.

No it's not your pea brain. For this show and TURN: WASHINGTON'S SPIES, the writers used such heavy period phrasing for the dialogue that I turn subtitles on so I can visualize the words that make up the phrases and use context to find meaning dawn on me.

I actually enjoy it myself a lot.
