I figured as much...he's a better punt returner IMO.

Although I still think he is being put at the wrong position on offense.

He should be 3rd down gimmick back

Uh, before everyone freaks out, this is pure speculative bullshit on the tribune's part. Weems I can see taking more snaps at returns to fill in for Knox, but that doesn't mean Hester is gonna be a major part o the receiving game-plan. Was there some chemistry developing between him and Cutler? Some, yes. However, until Hester can prove he will actually catch consistently, then there's nothing to talk about here.

Stop eating the shit Bear's media whores dumps onto fans.

I fail to believe that the staff is making a final decision on most of the roles before a pre-season game. Let alone, before training camp.

i dont mind them not using him at KR too much, Knox and Manning both have handled a bulk of the KR duties the past few years so it's notm uch of a change.

They should still put Hester back there in critical situations too.

As long as he keeps his punt return duties, it's not that big of a deal.

There were so few Kick returns last year now that the league has instituted the new kick off yardage, I don't see an issue.

Agreed! I really dont mind that, honestly. Use him as a gimmick and PR guy. Hell, I think he is much more of an asset on PR anyway, since the new dumbass KO rules came into play! Hester back on punts really shifts the field position game in our favor....except when we play the Raiders for some odd reason, I just dont know!

Pre-draft misdirection shit?

"Yeah, off the record, Hester is still big part of our offense. ..." Then come draft day, BAM we trade every pick and Darryl Drake for M. Floyd, ND.

Yeah, that makes sense. When other GMs learn that the Bears plan to continue using Devin Hester at WR, they will think "well, the Bears are set at the WR position for the next 5-10 years. No way they draft another one."

Then the Bears strike by selecting Stephen Hill from Georgia Tech.

I thought Jerry Angelo was a bad GM, but compared to the clowns on CCS, Angelo was like another Bill Polian.

Once again...

THE DEVIN HESTER WR EXPERIMENT SHOULD HAVE ENDED A FEW YEARS AGO. You know, when they realized he's NOT a good WR.

After seeing what the Saints did with Sproles I thought the Bears should definitely consider adopting that game plan and use Hester in the back field. Devin Hester has vision, and explosive speed which are much needed components in the back field. One would think, well if he has trouble catching then why not just hand the ball off to him right? Other than his minor issue with fumbling, I believe he could work out for the Bears in the RB position while also maintaining his role as KO, PRer. This is just an opinion.

May the Force be with you.

Hester at RB? This is something I'd like to see...

Hester should do kicks offs and punt returns exclusively. He doesnt have to return em all, thats why they brought in the other guys. Idk why they don't stop trynna make em a WR.

If any give him 2 or 3 plays as a tailback/WR just to keep Ds honest.

I think they can come up with ways to get him the ball but having him running the route tree hasn't worked.
