Watching Big Z on Sports Talk Live

He signed with the Chicago Dogs..
He looking to make a MLB comeback this year and would like to play 2 yrs, he 37.

I'd love to see him have success with Dogs and have a comeback this Summer with the Cubs as a reliever..

He said he hit 89-91 pitching in Miami the other day and topped at 94

I highly doubt Theo resigns the guy he traded right when he opened up shop. I heard that he has found true belief and the signs have pointed towards a baseball return. Still that doesn't mean will come back. Most likely means blown out arm like more return jobs.

That was 7 yrs ago and I didn't say sign him today, I said IF he looks good pitching with the Dogs....
Big Z gonna pitch with whomever offers him a shot.
Do I honestly think it'll be the Cubs, no..especially if their in contention ..
I'd just to see him pitch again with them

More likely be with a team like the Marlins that will be 50 games out come August..lol

Dude found real believe in God. So I don't doubt that he is beyond his internal issues. Add to it he has no reason to even come back. So I kinda believe that he is on a mission.

That said, It is too common to see these ex-pitchers to go out and make a comeback right into damaged goods. Dude has been shelved for 7 years. And he is going to start torquing out again. I get hitting 95. Sure years of recovery will add strength but he lost the durability and elasticity of the tendons that take of years of training and conditioning.

Great story but the ending is always the same.

Sure but I kinda doubt he just picked up the ball recently and just decided hey I'm gonna go try and pitch again..
I mean come on, I'm sure he been working on this for a while now
Building up his arm strength and all

History on ex players making a come back is poor.

Far too many blown up arms. I don't even recall 1 guy that had a extended success.

Jim Miller made a great movie story. He ended up as a DL case and out. The movie didn't cover that bit.

Even that lefty reclaim signed..DL season over.

It always happens. Guys find new MPH from a absence. And arm blow out.

Being able to throw 95 is not the same as going 100% over innings. Add to it going back to back as a relief pitcher.

Odds are in favor of a arm blow out.
