Cribbs has 10 seasons in the NFL making him a fully vested vet with a minimum salary of $955K for the 2014 season.
To put that into prespective rookies drafted in the top of the 2nd round players avearage ~$1M/season and 7th rounder are about ~$430K and their contracts are around 4 years in length.
From a pure financial side it makes no sense to sign Cribbs to any kind of a deal because the minimum you have to pay him is too high.
To add to that, there is no sense in adding a player who is on the decline unless they are a blue chip player on a short contract.
