I was not expecting that.
I was not expecting that.
Just got Insider, Sox are 28th ahead of Bre Crew and the Trout-less farm of Anaheim.

Also, in the BN article's comments, many have stated that Bill James said on MLB network that Rizzo has the second most power in the majors next to Giancarlo... not sure what context that is in.
EDIT: And James projections have Rizzo as 20th best hitter in majors next year, 5th out of 1B.
James has been really high on Rizzo for a while. Don't forget that he does, or at least did, work as a consultant for the Red Sox. I don't buy that I buy that Rizzo has the second most power in baseball. I think we have a good solid player in Rizzo, but I am not certain we have that elite cornerstone type player either.
Well this is what was included in the comments section of the article which is where it was on BN:Well of course, I think he was overrating him too, but I didn't actually hear what context he meant it in either.
I would disagree with that statement if that is indeed what James said.Brett, did you see MLBN’s Top Ten First basemen segment? Bill James ranked Rizzo as the 10th best right now and said something along the lines of him having second best power in the majors, next to Stanton. I thought it was very interesting.. He was talking more on the length or distance he can hit a ball, rather than number of homers.. I think.
I just had an Oscargasam :fap:
Dude can pull the ball a long way, but I would say that is the consenus on Rizzo's peak power production. That said what James said isn't so much about HR production and just pure ability to drive the ball. Even in that regard though I think the statement is way off.when I think power I think 40-50 HR potential. I don't think Rizzo will ever be there. I think he's a guy that is a 25-30 type player.
