Where should I start, I can go on for ever with this but to make it quick, I will write it up fast.

No Silva on the all star? I was surprise and thought he should of made it. Like Linc who made it, that was BS and Silva is way out performing him THIS YEAR. I know this is Silva best year and previous years were awful but it should go by this year.

Also no Votto (big time surprise, Howard and Infante over him :lmao:) and Latos (having a hell of a year). Votto still can make it as the fans can vote him in and he should be voted in. Also these players can make it with a injury and SP Gallardo who made it as a pitcher, left the game with an injury yesterday. :bowrofl: for Silva.

Thoughts?

While I am disappointed that Silva wasn't selected, Byrd was the right Cubs selection. He's the only guy that hustles out on the field (minus Colvin, in my opinion, but I'm holding out on NL RotY for him :p).

I'm surprised and a little upset that Youkilis isn't on the team.

Silva didn't make it because Byrd is the Cubs best player and there were better pitchers. Also, Silva isn't really "way out performing him", I'd take Lincecum on the squad over Silva.

I would take Tim over Silva also but if your going by this year, he should of made it. Silva should be 12-0 if the Cubs offense did not suck.

I agree, the top players go to the game to get ratings and def the NBA. It feels like it is the same players every year at least the starting 5 is.

Silva and even Konerko (see, I'm not biased) should be in. Konerko still has a chance though.

I voted for Konerko and Votto for the last-vote nominees.

Heyward is going to try to play! WTF! The NL hasn't won in YEAS, the last thing we need is an injured rookie batting .250 starting!

The Dumbasses will probably pick Strasburg.

If he gets voted in to replace Gallardo I will hit sopmething. He only has 6 starts and hasn't pitch great in his last outings. Latos and Silva should be voted in to replace Gallardo if he does not pitch.

1. Evan Meek deserved the AS selection.
2. Marmol and Silva got snubbed.

That's all. This team is pathetic, aside from Marmol, and not a single Cub deserves a spot. Marmol has more K's than 65% of the starting pitchers in the league, which is very impressive....He's the only bright spot on this Cubs team.

For what? Being the best player on the Cubs, offensively?

.306, 9 HR, 36 RBI is pretty solid...but that's not all-star numbers through one half of the season, IMO.

Jonny Gomes deserves a spot more than Marlon Byrd. Period.

I like Byrd. But he got in on a technicality. The relief pitching is weak outside of Evan Meek. Capps is in purely off of the amount of saves alone. Manuel is a fool for not having Marmol on this roster...A WORSE version of Carlos Marmol K'd Manny AND A-Rod in the same inning of the AS game 2 or 3 years ago....look at him now.

One thing is for sure, though: Heyward is a joke...
