It would if my food went bad. I wouldn't eat fish if I was working a day job, because I don't eat fish for lunch. But if I had fish for dinner, yeah, sorry, I'm gonna eat what I paid for so it doesn't spoil. The only time I've ever smelled fish to what you're describing is when someone over nukes the shit. By that point, it's pretty much dried out and terrible to eat anyway. But I don't think a bad smell is infringing on anyone's rights, whereas actively telling someone what they can and can't eat seems to be very much doing so. If it's an issue like BNB brought up where someone is allergic, then I fully understand.
Just the idea of eating microwaved fish is bad enough.

The only microwaved fish that sounds edible to me are fish sticks. And even then, some combination of hunger and desperation must exist.

I can honestly say I've never experienced food smelling that bad or lingering that long. Maybe that's where the disconnect is. I mean, the broccoli smelled like someone took a giant dump in the break room everyday, but it never bothered me after the initial unsuspecting whiff.
That cooked brocolli smell is nasty, I eat it raw .

Yeah, I never smelled anything quite as bad, foodwise. I've re-heated broccoli but never did it smell like that. I didn't even know it could smell like that.

I mean, you guys aren't microwaving the fish from a raw state to a cooked state, are you? I'm thinking you are just reheating it. Reheating fish isn't a crime and takes all of 15-30 seconds? If you feel guilty, reheat it to room temp (10 seconds?). Nothing wrong with room temp fish. I would only pause if you are in fact actually cooking fish from a raw state. If that's the case, GTFO.

In regards to sensitive little fish allergies, poor guys. The amount of things people in this world are allergic to is pathetic. I am proud to say that both my boys are allergic to NOTHING. They're already 10X the men some with pubes are.

Stinking up common areas at work is very inconsiderate, be it by nuking pungent foods or the passing of gas. I have many times incurred the wrath of my colleagues for microwaving aluminium foil and wreaking havoc on said device.

One of the perks at my job is crop dusting. I dust 20-30 times a shift and its glorious. Feel bad for all the cubicle guys who have to keep it inside. Makes them crazy, no doubt.

Think fish is bad just wait for one of your coworkers to bring their favorite curry in and slap it in the micro. Smell doesn't go away for a week.

Thanks DC. I thought I was the only person on CCS who re-heated cooked fish using a microwave. How TF else would you warm it up at work? Not like I have an oven just laying around I can use.

I had employees who would bring in shit like fish and curry, and employees who would whine about it. I liked neither, so the microwave was tossed. You don't have to have your food hot for lunch, and if you want hot food, go out. It hasn't been missed, the office is less cluttered, less garbage to deal with, and more relaxed.

Bringing fish or curry to work to heat up in an office with other workers imo is inconsiderate.

Leave it sit on your car dash maybe? That way it is your car that smells like fish (no problem, right?) and not something others have to smell.

If you're re-heating it and stinking up the office, you're fucking up your dish. I've never re-heated my fish to the point that it even stunk up the breakroom. If you're cooking it in the microwave, you have no right eating fish.

The worst thing is ppl that get raw onions on their food and don't eat them all. Throw it away in their office garbo can overnight... god its awful the next day.

This coming from a guy that loves both raw and grilled onions.
IMAGINE not having custodians ??

Tell her and anyone else to piss off, as long as you clean up any mess that you make.

Now that I’ve said that, I will still be making fun of anyone that I work with if they stink up the break room. Save your damned fermented fish heads and rice for home:cool:

I made Mulligatawny Soup a few years back in the winter, and a friend mentioned she likes to make it, but only when she can air out the house. I soon realized why.
