Everyone could see that Cody Parkey was one of the worst kickers in the NFL.

The only thing that stopped Pace from bringing in other kickers after the Detroit game was that Parkey cost $9 million or however much it was.

Well, the Bears saved having to pay out more than that $9 million, but at the expense of a playoff run.

Hope it was worth it, Pace! Do you think a playoff run for the Bears is worth more than $9 million? I sure as fuck do!!

Not sure why he had such a long leash; most teams would have cut a kicker that missed that much.

I honestly have no fking clue what the decision making was in this situation...they never even worked anyone out.

Hell....you didnt even have to cut him; just bury him as an inactive each week or put him on IR with an "injury" and then revisit him next year and see if hes better

Could never understand it myself. He does nothing well, so it had to be for money reasons. Dumb dumb move when you have a playoff team. I'm amazed they didn't sign anyone for the postseason and thought it could happen last week.

I don't see Parkey being able to overcome the amount of shit he is going to face and the worse headcase he is going to be. He is a fucking liability and one of the worse signings by Pace. He will be hated like Bartman, some people already want him AND his family dead, as sick as that sounds smh. Frankly, for his own good and for the well being of the Bears organization, he should be cut asap, and whomever doesn't agree with that decision can go fuck off right along with him..

And while I would never want bodily harm to befall Parkey, I’d be right there along any other fan who wants to boo him as long as he’s a Chicago Bear. And there’s A LOT of such people.

There’s already a video making the rounds of Soldier Field loudly booing Parkey as he left the field, with the implication being that that’s somehow unfair to Parkey. It’s not. He’s bad at his job. It’s par for the course, and he absolutely deserves *that*.

If they keep him, there’ll be a march on Soldier Field.

Well said and I share your sentiments. Wishing him and his family death is some low ass shit to do, Pace should remedy the situation by cutting him and have security escort his ass out of town, then look for another kicker and try to sign Gould. It has taken many years to get the team back to the playoffs and this horrible job by Parkey will never be forgiven.

What he did in terms of misses will never happen again. It is such a anomaly. Also fucked, because he was good enough to make the first 3.

I would have felt so much better had he shanked all the previous kicks. But he made the 3 to give me just enough hope he would make it.

6 post in the year. What the fuck. Two oth kickers hit 3 this year as the next highest. Unreal.

This won’t happen. But would it be possible to restructure Parkey’s contract, guarantee all his money and then cut him? I’m just curious if this could happen and it wouldn’t affect the cap?
