Bears 2011 Draft Thread (Updated 2/6)

On this thread, I will post all the projected picks for the Bears from most every reputable draft site. Also, if you all would like to post your own picks, analysis, what-have-you, I'll post those in the initial post as well.

This is a big project, and takes a lot of time, so please try to keep the chat to NFL and Bears Draft talk only.

Special Thanks to Captain Obvious, DewsSox79 and Chi66 for helping me keep this updated.

I will update this daily (if possible) through to the draft.

Who do you see us taking with the first pick? If available (realistically) who would you like? I am really high on Pouncey but feel like no matter what offensive line needs to be the first position addressed. As much for need as for PR.

If Pouncey's there, I'd be thrilled to get him. If not, best available OL, or DT if OL is too much of a reach.

I want Stefen Wisniewski. He'll be a great replacement for Kreutz when he retires and he can play OG until he does.

He's the top center in the draft...
The Bears would be absolute fools to pass him up, unless it was for Costanzo or Sherrod

So I wouldn't be suprise if they pass him up, lol. But they do have a new guy making the moves in the draft, not JA. So that can help. Well it can't hurt.

Wisnewski and Pouncey are hand in hand the same type of player. Both late 1st early 2nd some like the other over the other. Both are center/guards who weren't always full time centers so may be best as guards as rookies. Wisnewski was the RG this year for Penn State but was a center the previous year and Pouncey only played center his senior year.

I'd take either and hope the Bears draft one of them since I'm sure at least 1 should get to them.

They are not at all the same player. Wisnewski can play center unlike Pouncey, who struggled mightily with snapping the ball all season.

Football's Future has Wisniewski going to the Bears.......in the 2nd Round.

Is that even possible?

With their legit 2nd round pick, no, but JA could trade down into the high 2nd round because he fears 1st round picks. I've seen several mocks having the Patriots take him to start the 2nd round with the traded pick from Carolina they have there.

Pouncey played center only this past year and had very little experience playing it before which is why early on he was having awful snapping issues. Those issues lessened as the year went on because he actually had experience snapping then.

Both players only were centers 1 year in college. Wisnewski was only a center his Junior year before being moved back to guard.

There is absolutely no way Wisnewski lasts to the Bears 2nd.

Walter Football is the one I like the most. Both of the first picks fill holes, and with FA included (if there is one) I like how they have us drafting. Dunno how I feel about a WR, but depends on who's available.

Yeah, I Like that one too...of course, these'll change almost weekly for 2 months...then almost daily...

I question whether or not Pouncey will last that late...

Yeah there should be a run on offensive lineman and there's definitely a chance he'll be gone, but if not then I hope the Bears snatch him up immediately. Do you think Austin will last until our second pick? I'd be willing to trade up for the right price, the guy is supposed to be a playmaker.
