Papelbon getting paid...4 years at 50M. For a pitcher who struggled last year.

Now who's laughing at the Marmol contract?! They switch their attention to the the Phills. Thanks Phills!

Jamey Carroll to the Twins. He'll be their everyday SS.

Phillies also just coughed up a draft pick. Papelbon's been good but this contract is retardulous.

Yeah it is.

He has been good, but he struggled in '11.

I thought the reported 4 year, 44M to Madson was ridiculous. This is even more ridiculous.

Papelbon is a solid closer.

Dude was just chasing in on his last big pay check of his career.

He'd be stupid not to take the money.

The issue is that the team offering the money is the truly stupid entity.

NO one. they will when and if a team does.

He's looking for 60M, damn! Good luck lol.

The Red Sox have been linked to him right now.

Cubs should try to help the Red Sox save $ by giving them Carlos Marmol and asking for a prospect back

Yeah with the RP expected to get paid this Winter, Marmol's contract looks very reasonable. I saw that today and makes total sense.

Certainly would be a logical move for the Brewers to add him with McGehee's struggles last year. I can't wait for us to sign another Willie Greene type to plug in 3B while we wait for Vitters to figure out how to take a pitch and field the ball at 3B.
