I don't think anyone should be banned. You are either good at baseball or you're not.

But he broke the rule that said if you do it you get banned for life. He also lied about it. How do you reconcile that?

The rules are clear on it though. How do you reconcile that for Rose?

Yup, I would.

Pete Rose is argueably the best hitter in baseball. Not having him in the HoF lessens it's importance, in my eyes atleast.

For those that put Rose in how do you reconcile him breaking a rule he knows gets him banned and then lying about it for years?

Because of his accomplishments as a player. It was never proven he bet on baseball in his playing days.

Besides, there's already a bunch of ne'er-do-wells in the Hall, so he'd fit right in.

I think you can make an argument on Rose as a great hitter but I don't think he cracks the top 10. Somewhere maybe in the 30s off the top of my head

For me Joe gets on the ballot asap. Rose doesn't until he's like Joe. Dead. Lifetime ban. Joes life is over which is why he should be on. Rose can get on the first ballot after his death. And I would both in on first ballot

Very good singles hitter. Mr hustle all the way. But purely as a hitter I stll say in the 30s. 211 in ob probably not top 1000 in slugging.

Yes to both. They were two of the best players in history. They more than deserve a spot in the Hall.

What the hell does the guy dying have anything to do with it?

That just sounds spiteful, like they aren't allowed to enjoy it while they are alive.

That's cool but that's solely your opinion.

IMO, the guy is in the top 5 of all time.
