I agree, I actually would prefer flipping Byrd and Barney if they insist on taking the pressure off of Soto and plugging Castro in the 3 spot.

While Barney might be a Fukudome clone, he hardly has the track record to predict another hot start.

I think the manager has to play the hot hand where he can, but it just seems like wasted outs at the beginning of the season no matter how hot the guy was in spring training.

If Barney struggles, then drop him, until then he's good there. It's a toss up with him ad Byrd. Byrd does the same too.

Given the lack of speed this team has, I prefer going with the guy with a little more power in the 2 spot. But this decision really will have little effect on the outcome of the season.
