Pre-Dale:
2010: .300/.347/.408 29 BB
2011: .307/.341/.432 35 BB

Dale years where they tried to make him less aggressive to increase BB
2012: .283/.323/.430 36 BB
2013: .245/.284/.347 30 BB

Ya that was a fail and was a big reason why Dale got shit canned.

After Theo letting him go back to his old ways
2014: .300/.327/.460 2 BB

Didn't the desire to make him a more patient/less aggressive hitter come from the top though?

No idea. Conjecture: To a degree. Theo puts out vision. Dale needs to hammer it out. What we saw was Dale micro managed the IF D and the hitting.

Ricky is letting his coaches coach while he puts together the line ups.

That is what I think at least. We saw a dip from Castro, Rizzo and Barney. Castro's was the most pronounced as he went from a .300 hitter to a .280 to a .240. That is drastic. Rizzo did not have a history to work with but he is hitting .300 under Mags. Barney was not good but dropped to .200 under Dale.

We has enough proof to make a strong assumption that Dale earned his ass can.

It does not factor out the steroid era

I get that. But I would relate to that as Sale wins 19 1 year and 11 the next. The avg is 15.

A career is a marathon. The start builds up normally then tapers off at the end.

He started at 20 and if he plays until 40 he needs to avg 150 hits per to get 3000.

With that in mind he should have started the season at 600 hits to be on pace. He was near 700. Ahead of the curve. This will help at the tail end.

Now if he sustains a injury that cuts his AB to the 300 range it might kill his chances.

One name I saw was on Juan Pierre. He passed DiMaggio last year at 2215 hits. He started at the age of 23. 3 years later than Castro did. Yes he amassed many 200 hit seasons but he went through 2 years with LAD which limited his AB's to the 300-400 range. Back with the Sox he went full time and put together 2 seasons in the 170-180 hit range. But seeing how he is looking at a 17 year shelf life his LAD stint killed his chances at it.

It absolutely came from up top. The manager will always take the heat over bigger management in baseball. They werent going to fire Hoyer or Theo so Dale was who was left to fire. I think it was the right decision because Dale wasnt a good coach. He was just the sacrificial lamb.

If they decided to never play Darwin Barney again, I'd be fine with that.

Can't lie, absolutely loving Cashner as a pick up off FA in fantasy so far, complete game shut up with 1 hit. BEA utiful!

You were able to pick up Cashner as a FA???

Either you play in a 3 team league or in the absolute dumbest league in the history of fantasy sports.

23rd round????

Like I said, either a 3 team league or the dumbest league in the history of fantasy sports.

Both of the intelligent leagues I play in, he went in the first ten rounds.

My statements still stand about it being a 3 team league or the dumbest league in the history of fantasy sports.

Well, that definitely clinches it as the worst league in the history of fantasy sports then.

Not sure why you are bragging about leading the worst fantasy league in history, but to each their own.

Guess you haven't been intelligent enough to know that Theo is infallible just like The Pope.

Nothing is ever the fault of the top.
