The rapid reaction by Toews to grab his shoulder could also be because the AC joint was already injured. These injuries don't really go away, the pain lessens over the years, but it isn't something you hope a top stick handler is dealing with. It can cause lots of discomfort in normal actiivities, but they will probably rest him an extra week longer than he wants to and bring him back at the end of the season with Kane.

Thats twice now....Hossa injured on the boards against the Penguins earlier in year, and Bruins strike Kane. League can't beat us, they are taking shots at our dragon heads. We gonna be an angry team come playoffs.

Q was on WGN Radio tonight, and again said Toews' injury is not too serious and he's day to day. Wasn't any discussion about whether or not Toews would miss games.

not a bad time for talent evaluation in the middle of a playoff stretch to see what we have from the cheap contract and young guys. Lets see who can step out, who wants to be part of the core going forward, and who can't hack it without the crutch of Toews/Kaner

If we can shake the rust and find chemistry again and survive the first round, everything should be alright and we should get our best shot.

Q said that today that Toews could begin skating as early as tomorrow and is expected to be 100 percent for Game 1 of the playoffs.

FWIW, Toews offered his thoughts on this whole situation today:

Toews on Orpik response: "Boys did the right thing. I don’t expect anything after something like that, that was a clean hit." #Blackhawks

Toews on Orpik response: "So to get into stupidity — I don’t think was going to help us at all as a team. The boys did the right thing."

Toews on Orpik response: "Our team was having a tough week there and we were trying to win that game. That was the most important thing."
