This is the kind of inning I like seeing from the cubs. Obviously I'd like to see them score but they saw 27 pitches in the first inning. That should pay off in the 6-8th innings when you get into the Padres bullpen.

Edwin Jackson back to his old self, we may be down 10 runs by then

Leave him out there to give up 30. I don't care.

I thought replay suppose to help... he clearly missed bag and Bonifacio foot came down before drag. So what the point of replay when they still get it wrong

Think I called this his last game. Stud than dud. Typical for Jackson for his career.

This game's been as exciting as watching paint dry thus far.

They had a good stat in the game just a minute ago. In games where the cubs score 3 or fewer runs they are 3-23. That means in the rest of the games they are 14-6. While that isn't all that surprising, last year the NL average was 4 runs a game. Just goes to show you what the team is capable of if they were even an average offense.

Edit: make that 4-23.

Nice 4-pitch inning by Rondon for the Save and the W.

Well seems like the team has stabilized here for their couple of months on decent play again. Since April 27th the team is 11-13. Problem is of course they get off to a slow start and are starting 9 or 10 games below .500 before this starts each year. Funny though how this happening was dismissed out of hand when I stated that this would happen in April but here we are nearly half way there to that stretch.

I'm not all that surprised it's gone this way. If they play roughly .500 ball thru the rest of the season they will still be in that 70-75 win area. They can go 52-63(.452) over the remained of the season and still hit 70 wins.

Have you read what I've written about this? Because I sure haven't said they will play .500 the rest of the way. I didn't even say they would play .500 for a couple of months, but the idea that this is a historically bad team is absurd given available information.
