Not that Colvin is anything special, but it'd be nice to have him on this team. I'd say we lost that trade considering Ian Stewart didn't do anything for us and hasn't done anything since his Colorado days.

Valbuena and Rizzo are our only players that get on base over a .330 clip. That's ridiculous. The last 3 years(including this year), our team OBP's have been .302, .300, and .301 this year. We haven't been in the top half of the league in OBP since 08. We need guys that get on base in the worst way.

I really liked the Feldman trade at the time and it is still proving to be a nice trade for us. Let's hope Arrieta can pitch like this for us for 3 more team controlled years.

Team control, the utmost thing.

He was a FA so they could have.

As bad as Stewart was, that trade was just trading nothing for nothing. The best player in the deal has been DJ, and he is a 1 WAR player. He is about to be 26.

Cubs are still on pace for 100 losses. I am not sure what 100+ losses in year 3 of a rebuild means, but I know it is not a good thing.

Ugh, when does football start.

1 more night of hockey first...
Association football already going, Canadian football in a few weeks, American Football you will have to wait for.

Just read the boxscore....it appears that the Cubs genius manager sent Barney in to pinch hit with two men OB. Did I read that right? No way he can be that stupid.....

Cubs clinched an important victory 2 games ago. Sharks 1st win.
It's common a team will play a little flat after a big win.
Normally though, they do it after clinching a post season spot, not the last week of May.

I think they just ran into good pitching with a team that isn't very good at hitting. Hudson and Lincecum are nothing to sneeze at.
