Every year it's the same. It reminds me of the dumb Bears fans that say the Bears have no cap room EVERY year. :nope: Brooks will be the new DJ, who was the new Nate, who was the new CJ, and so on. If anything, these players should be thanking Thibs and the Bulls team, for getting them big contracts the following year.

Kirk is a great player. He will be a great piece as a backup for the Bulls. Rose being injured has put a lot of fans perspective out of line, imo. Rose/Butler, and Brooks/Kirk, isn't as bad as people are making out, especially when teams will be trying to keep up with our extremely deep and big front line rotation.
People like to stare at his FG% and ignore everything else he does on the court.

Wow. I can't believe someone thinks Kirk is a "great" player. There's hyperbole and then there's that.

He is a great player for the Bulls. His defense on Wade two years ago in the playoffs was great. Some of his weakness as a starter are emphasized, but as a b/u G for the Bulls, he's a great fit! He bring a certain amount of consistency, imo. Thibs can rely on him to do what he does. I'd just like for people to give him the credit he deserves. Ya'll just pissed that he's not a superstar. He's a great team player!

A decent move by the Bulls? There must be a catch.

At least this kind of makes up for the disastrous decision to sign Hinrich:facepalm: over Augustin, for about the same price. That's like going to a restaurant and being offered a sirloin steak or an old, cold, bunless McDonalds patty on a plate for the same price. Which would you choose? Well, the Bulls chose the latter. But enough about the D.J. vs. Kirk argument.

Good move. I just hope Brooks doesn't rot away on the bench at the expense of Hinrich. Brooks should be the backup to Rose and Kirk should be the 3rd option. But I think we all know it's going to be the other way around, well... that is of course, until Rose gets hurt again and Kirk becomes the starter, as God intended.

Kirk needs to come off the Bench for Butler, Brooks for Rose.

It looks like we have a nice, balanced rotation here. A little heavy in forwards, but there is nice flexibility there.

1s
Rose
Butler
Dunleavy/Mirotic (I think Nikola will take over in minutes at SF around mid season)
Gasol
Noah

2s
Brooks
Heinrich/Snell
McDermott/Dunleavy (2nd half of season)
Gibson
Bairstow

Noah and Gasol are going to dominate front courts across the NBA. Both can facilitate, as well as put the ball on the floor, and crash the boards. Gasol's post game is excellent, and his ability to get his shot, is going to give us a legitimate I half court offense.

I been vocal in my frustrations, but if Rose can return to form, I think that this team can be undefendable.

Yeah, I don't get these people that keep bashing our G's, especially if Rose comes back. I do think Snell will play himself into some minutes at SG if he keeps drilling his shot. His defense looks a lot better, and he is driving the rim a lot better as well.

Personally, I don't want a team of G's anymore. I'm glad to have a 7 man rotation of big men! Rose, Brooks, and Snell can all score at the G spot's. Butler is one of the best dfensive G's in the NBA, and Kirk does a little of each. That's a real nice 5 man G rotation, imo.

That leaves a big rotation 7'0" Pau (1st post scorer in years), 6'11" Noah (DPOY), Taj (7'4" wingspan, 6th man runner up), 6'10" Niko (3 point specialist big man), 6'10" Bairstow (body banging Aussie that scores), 6'9" Dunleavy (all around solid vet), and 6'8" Dougie (best College scorer and 3 pt specialist).

How the fuck are teams gonna deal with that? Especially with Thibs defense???

I like what the Bulls have done.

Butler. Which is more then most NBA teams can say.

LOL, what's wrong with people? :dunno: Yeah, there's a lot of OTHER teams sporting Lebron stoppers! Butler is probably top 3, top 2 at checking Lebron. Leonard checks him great with SA, but Butler does as good a job as anyone else.

If Snell's SL play carries over to the regular season, we have the deepest team in the NBA now. I can't wait for the regular season to start :bullbang:

If Cleveland shows a lot of inexperience/doesn't mesh well in year 1 like I think, then a championship could depend on the knees of Derrick Rose.

It wouldn't surprise me honestly, I think the Heat are going to be better than most think. I guess their situation is the same as ours though, their fate depends on their superstar's knees

Maybe its sarcasm that I've not picked up on, but I think too many of you are getting a bit hung up on the race thing.

There's maybe 4-5 players in the league that are even decent at guarding Lebron. Butler is one of them.

The other players who are on the list imo: Paul George, Kawhi Leonard, Luol Deng, and maybe Iggy.

People like to stare at his FG% and ignore everything else he does on the court.

When someone calls Hinrich a "great player" it is pretty impossible to think of them as having much brain matter don't you think? To me, throughout his career he has been one of the most over-valued players that the Bulls have ever had. Yeah he has "grit". Yeah he has always hustled. But the next big clutch shot that he makes will be his first. I HATE when the ball is ever in his hands and they need a score from him. Hell, I even really HATE when he is at the free throw line when they need him to knock down a pair. But what really pisses me off is when he is at the point. Ever watch the guy, really? It is like that he is at 45 rpm when the rest of the team is moving at 78(yeah, I'm old, I remember the old vinyls:) People are moving around and Hinrich is dribbling around the perimeter draining the shot clock.

My goodness........... Rose, Butler, Hinrich, and Brooks according to BP is "not as bad as people make it out to be"? IN that group we have a SF that cannot play SG. An old guy who isn't either a PG or SG, and a guy that will never be mentioned as a good basketball player. Yeah....... that should give all Bulls fans a reason to be confident. WE NEED TO MAKE A BIG TIME TRADE!

Rose locks down 34-36 minutes at the point when healthy. Brooks provides a nice spark and scoring off the bench (similar to Augustin and Nate Rob did). Hinrich can still D up and spread the floor. Point guard isn't a problem.

Jimmy Butler is an All-NBA wing defender, it doesn't matter if he is at the 2 or 3, he will simply be guarding the opponents best wing player and he will do it very effectively. If he can pick up his shooting from last season, he will prove to be an above average wing player. Tony Snell, who has all the makings of an effective 3 & D player, will back him up along with Hinrich who can still shoot and play defense.

Dunleavy is one of the best spot up shooters in the NBA. McDermott was the best all-around shooter in college basketball. Neither will be asked to guard an opponents best player and Thibs defensive scheme pretty much masks their defensive deficiencies.

The Bulls are going to be just fine at the wing positions. This team has been in worse situations, remember when Keith freaking Bogans was starting on the team that made the ECF?

We always harp and fuss over Gar/Pax and they're removal (inability to keep) of great bench players after great bench players, yet they consistently reload the roster year after year with depth. At least at this point, it looks like our bench will be pretty formidable giving a ton of flexibility to Thibs.

Can't wait for the season.

I don't think GarPax get criticized for creating a bench. I think they get criticized for their inability to get creative enough to bring in another star player.

A great player for the Bulls .... it seems Thib's thinks so as he Loves Kirk. Most people, including Magic, Phil Jackson, and many others think the Bulls had a pretty good off season, yet ....... you think they need to make a 'BIG TIME TRADE'? My goodness is right!
