Had dinner tonight and scanned through the first three pages and saw no thread for it, so here goes.

Decent easy one pot meals.

Inspiration was something my wife made tonight in a hurry to get to some charity thing while she abandoned me and the kids. Something that she grew up with that I've never heard about. Cottage ham and beans.

Simplest thing ever and it is quite good.

She brought this thing back from Cincy called a "Cottage Ham" which in Chicago we call "smoked butt."

DIced it and added a bunch of green beans from the garden that she chopped up. An onion that she sliced. A fuckton of fresh black pepper. Covered with water and simmered down. No salt, no other seasonings. I'm sure it can be elevated but it was brilliant just the way it was. Kind of like my wife without makeup.

Anyways, if you like ham and you like green beans, it's super good. Just don't ever you canned green beans because I'm confident it will be inedible.

Looking for some recipes like this, super simple and good, no processed ingredients like cream of mushroom canned soup or shit like that. (unless it is the bomb then I will allow it.)

Home made baked beans. Whatever your recipe.

Diced ham as above.

Brown the ham in butter in a pan. Add beans, then poach 2 eggs directly in the beans. Awesome with naan on Sunday morning.

nice. I will have to try it. Sounds like I may need two days/one pot though.

btw, what made you go naan with this?

I just love unleavened bread. That chew with naan, and the fold.

I've done this with canned beans more often than home made. Just wanted to keep it to the terms you outlined. And it's usually leftover home made beans.

Crock Pot meal (One pot, right :) )

Shredded chicken into pot. Add fresh pico (Jar is acceptable), cumin. four hours later it's a line between chili, soup, and salsafied chicken.

I made this taco chili stuff once and ate it with tortilla chips. I don't have the recipe though.

This post is useless. :(

I've never actually tried this, but I bet you can make some pretty quick and easy fried rice in one pot by just continually adding ingredients (meat, veggies, rice, egg is usually the order I go in). Your pot would have to be wok sized if you plan on making enough for more than one person though.
