69 pitches through 7 innings for Stroman. lol I think we miss Castro and Rizzo pretty badly.

Olt 5 hits in 3 games since his demotion. Very small sample size, great to see nonetheless

Was thinking: Coghlan, Valbuena, Olt, Soler, Baez, Alcantra, Castillo, Valikia, Watkins next game. If Olt has figured something out ride it out.

Any who I said this season hinged on if Olt was producing or not. He didn't and we had a make shift clean up in Castro. Now we have Soler in that role.

Just think if Olt was hitting like Soler was behind Rizzo. Shoot I would be happy with .260 if he was keeping his HR pace from earlier.

We'll makes me think that Baez needs to go to winter ball to work on his flaws. Olt went into AAA knowing what he needed to do and seems like it is working. He was hitting .300 in Iowa. So it may not be a fluke going on right now.

Stranger things have happened. Perhaps he realized the changes he needed to make in his swing/approach and is a smarter player this time around. Good for him, if that's the case.

He said he had to simplify his approach. Who knows could have been a timing or limiting his movements. It was a vague answer.

Add James Shields and a left handed table setter to the team and then see what this team starts to look like.

I would rather have Lester.

Last 30
Arrieta 6 GS 2-2 2.87 ERA 37.2 IP 35 SO 1.06 WHIP
Hendricks: 5 GS 3-0 2.25 ERA 28 IP 13 SO 1.14 WHIP
Wada 5 GS 3-1 2.63 ERA 27 IP 21 SO .95 WHIP

Wood 5 GS 1-3 6.85 ERA 23 IP 19 SO 1.65 WHIP
Turner 3 GS 1-2 5.31 ERA 20 IP 11 SO 1.33 WHIP
Doubront 2 GS 1-1 2.25 ERA 12 IP 5 SO 1.25 WHIP

So my depth right now is Arrieta, Hendricks, Wada, Doubront, Turner, Wood.

At this point they should not offer arb to Wood. Doubront takes his spot. That puts the rotation at 5 plus Jackson. Not sure if they will eat that deal.

Turner is on the bubble then. If they add then I would make him a MR. IMO his stuff is better suited as a middle reliever.

So about Turner. What innings in his starts is he giving up runs? I'm wondering if he could be a middle relief/emergency starter, if starter doesn't work out?

What you need to do is trade him to the White Sox for some non-descript spec. Then Coop will place him under his Off Season Program and he'll battle in ST for the #3 slot for the White Sox. Or you could keep him and have Bosio do it.

You have a rough piece of rock that under the right hands could be a diamond. I'd keep working on making him a diamond.

He needs more than a 92 2 seem/cutter combo to cut it as a SP. I really do not see the love affair with him. If he was hitting 95 with a hard breaking slider then I would get it.

So he needs a good changeup (3rd pitch) then?
