Surprised there wasn't one already but pretty good game tonight. That Rizzo double might end up being huge. I really feel like next year with some help in the lineup like he could have a special season.

All things considered, it wasn't that bad of a year when you think about trading 2 of the top 3 in the rotation, your best left handed reliever, and still won 70 plus games. They also were able to see the kids and what they need to work on for next season.

If they get that coveted TOR pitcher and a table setter, it could be fun watching these young guys next year with some experience at the major league level, plus working Kris Bryant into the line-up, with Addison Russell and Pierce Johnson next in line. :hi5:

That was a game to remember for ALcantara/Baez/Soler. Lots of K's, and not a lot of hits

Growing pains. Better to learn now than suffer at the start of next season doing what they are doing now.

Alcantara should improve to be a .250 hitter but Baez to me has the most work to do this winter. He has to realize that he has the quick wrists plus power, and doesn't need to bust the seems off of a baseball.

He will have a lot of film to watch, and he ain't going to like what he sees.

Let's knock this a-hole out of the game here. I can't stand Lackey. Surprised he isn't jawing at the Cubs bench for no reason.

Say what you want about Baez, but when the ball goes in the air off his bat. Everyone thinks its gone. He has such a great sound off his bat. He was under that ball and hit close to the warning track. Sound is so pure.

So, not to be gay(not that there is anything is wrong with that) but when do we suck Bosio penis? I meam Arrieta has always had talent but Bosio may be the greatest thing that has happened to the Cubs.

YEAH!!! Over .500 at home!! Arrieta dominant again. Can't wait to see the new Wrigley, new Cubs, new prospects, and hopefully new FA signings next April. Been awhile since I've been this excited for a season

Arrieta finished the season 5.1 innings short of qualifying for ERA leaders.

He would have been 5th, behind Kershaw, Cueto, Wainwright, Hamels.

Nice season, Jake!

Arrieta allowed 44 ER in 25 starts.

15 of those in two real duds. 29 in the remaining 23 starts.

Jake has pretty much put himself into a staff ace situation.

I was doubtful that Shark was a legit ace. Even with the A's he was not dominate. Jake is putting up the numbers and is getting the results.

It is what is expected out of an ace.

Even with this team dragging him down he still looked the part.

I dont know about all that. Arrieta was dominant this year, but Shark finished top 20 in ERA, FIP, xFIP, IP, WAR. Shark was def an Ace this year.

2.88 ERA and 212 IP and just won a huge game for the A's the other day.
