Shark will do well. I'd be more concerned with how the Sox are going to score runs.

please tell me how you figure this?

eaton gets on base
melky hits high avg and high OBP
abreu does it all
laroche will hit bombs and get on base
garcia is starting to show what he can do. power and obp
conor will drive in more runs with his higher BA and OBP

It is a balnced lineup. I dont see how you can even say that but assume unprovens will own it. just doesnt make any sense

So you complete discount the substantial sample size of pitching for the White Sox? Seems foolish to me, but it is your right.

No offense, but what does this mean?

Agreed.

Eaton, Melky, Abreu, the LaRoche/Tank platoon, & the Gillaspie/Bonafacia platoon give you 5 100 wRC+ productions in the line up. Hell, even if Garcia's production as a White Sox stays the same, he's been a 105 OPS+ hitter since coming over.

Line up will be fine. Alexei will be around league average for a SS batting 7th. Its really only 8 & 9 that are kind of meh.

You see us as thin because of the massive drop from 3 to the 4/5. We are blessed to have 3 guys that are in the top 20 of all of baseball. I'll take that rotation. You don't get the #8 ranking by not being good IMO. Samardzija was shit but then he wasn't with the Cubs anymore so he's amazing.

Your team had 73 wins last season. That is bottom of the barrel. You have to hope that the replacements equal 15 wins or more. The pitching on the Sox is solid or should be anyway. Where the concern would be is the run production. Have they made the right moves there? It could be argued either way. Outside of Kansas City, the AL Central is down though, so I think the Sox have a decent shot at a WC, if not more provided KC stumbles.

we gain shark, kc loses shields. we gain laroche kc loses butler

you cant compare roster from last year to this year.

viciedo replaced by cabrera
full season in RF of Garcia
anybody is better than beckham
dunn replaced by laroche

124 closers who shouldnt have closed (belisario the main fuckhead) replaced by robertson

downs replaced by duke

paulinos spot amongst the 2 youngsters not ready to pitch replaced by shark.

etc etc totally different team and makeup.

i really dont think laroche will platoon. the guy is an everyday player. for viciedo to be trusted against lefties he would have to play everyday. i just cant see him as a PT player and having success because he pretty much sucks when he gets reps. id prefer him at 3b and conor at 2b. is that crazy? yea. but i think that makes the lineup even more potential to be dangerous.

Sox ave a team. I think they have to stzy complete all season. I dont think much of Cabrera but it he fit their need. Yes, I was against the Cubs going after him. The rotation should be sick. Yea, their 4 and 5 isnt great but that 1 through 3 barring health should be nast. I still love Shark. I think Robertson was a bad investment. Its the money not the player. Laroche was a solid signing.

So the Sox made replacements, some better than previous and some questionable, but KC went backwards. Got it.

How did the Royals get better? Kansas City was an 84-78 win team going by Pythagorean in 2014 and they lost

-James
+Volquez
+Rios
+Morales

Their pen is still solid, but I doubt it will replicate last season's numbers.

They're probably the 4th best team in the division right now.

LaRoche is 204/284/336 vs LHP. That's bad.

Gillasplie should be platooning with Bonafacio.

You guys keep talking about who they lost. Someone had to replace them. Pythagorean? The game isn't played on paper.

In my post I put they lost Shields but added Volquez....

No, the game isn't played on paper but given their lack luster offence and bullpen they over achieved, and they haven't made the necessary moves to keep pace.

And what is with Cubs fans on this board asphyxiating themselves with the Royals? Dabs, is that you?

Yeah. Sorry. That's what I get for reading on my phone.

They've made moves. As for keeping pace, KC over-achieved by 4 games. Whoopdedoo. The White Sox finished 16 games behind KC. Have they made enough moves to make up those 16 games? Like I have said from my first post here, the White Sox are right in the hunt for the playoffs, especially provided KC stumbles.
