According to the draft trade chart, it would probably cost us our 3rd and 4th picks, or something similar (approx 300 points on the chart).

The chart teams use when making trades, giving a numerical value to each draft choice.

Round 1 Round 2 Round 3 Round 4 Round 5 Round 6 Round 7
13,000335806526597112129431612719314.2

32,2003555067255991041314116326.219513.4
41,80036540682501001001324016425.819613
51,70037530692451019613339.516525.419712.6
61,600385207024010292134391662519812.2
71,50039510712351038813538.516724.619911.8
.....

If I had the #1 pick I would trade it for 211 Seventh rounders.

There is only 1 player in this draft worth trading up for Leonard Williams.

It would probably cost us our 2nd with something coming back.

Or a 3rd and something.

I personally would do both deals if they were availlable.

If Ray Mac doesn't whip some innocent white chick down, the Bears will have one of the most versatile lines in football. I don't forsee any issues getting to the QB. I'd rather take Collins at our spot or one of the stud wideouts.

I feel like we will need to leapfrog the Jets and Redskins to get a top pass rusher. Fowler is likely going to the Jags. That will leave Washington and new York ready to take Beasley and Ray. That is a very likely scenario.

Meanwhile, Oakland sits at 4, ready to take Kevin white or Amari Cooper; Both will be there at 7. This is 3 spots, and it's not like it's for pick 1 or 2. What would Oakland want for compensation?

Yes, we would lose a pick, but if it's for the next great pass rusher, it's worth it.

You don't trade up that high in a draft unless it's for a QB that you know will be a franchise QB. Like next year when we need to move up for one of the top QB's coming out.

Don't really see a trade up - maybe down. I think both are unlikely because there will be a player they like at 7, whether it's defense or offense. There are only 6 teams ahead - if a team wants to get desperate they could trade down.

I don't think a trade down is very unlikely at all but there will be NO trading up for us.

We are going to get a very good player at pick #7. No need to trade up. We need to not give up anymore picks and learn to draft.

Honestly, the only way I see the Bears moving up is if they see Cooper as far and away the best WR in the class and don't think he will fall to 7

This is truth. In the scenario where the draft goes something like 1. Winston 2. Mariota 3. Cooper/White/Fowler, then I think you have to try to trade up from #7 to #4 to get Williams, even if it means giving up a 2nd or 3rd round pick.

If TB goes Winston and the Titans roll the dice on Mariota and the Jags are in love with Fowler (and they just signed Odrick to a fat deal,) then I'd trade away our 2nd rounder with Oakland to go get Leonard Williams-- the Raiders would still probably get either Cooper or White at #7 as well.

Not worth it. We need more picks not less

That is the problem, there isn't any "great pass rusher" in this draft. Giving up any pick to move up to get a pass rusher of all things is just not very sound thinking.

A really stupid GM is what it would take to trade up.

With all these new LBs I say yes to Danny Shelton at 7

I fear this pick. I expect him to be a good player, but not a top 7 player in this draft. But if Cooper and Beasley are gone (looks like they will be), I think Shelton is probably the guy.

Shelton is really a safe pick (assuming he has a healthy heart for being that heavy). He is going to be good just like Landon Collins is going to be good. But is he worth the 7th pick is a great question.

Seems excessive. Let the cards fall where they will.
