Well i was hoping to see if kaner could get vermette going but guess that wont happen right away if vermette is scratched and if kane does come back for game 1 ( which i still doubt anyways).

Is Baun playing or can he play? I hear Q is big time sold on the kid already.

I believe he is ineligible due to signing after the trade deadline. But Q did sound like a big fan of his.

Such a weird cba rule if thats the case but okay guess it does make sense if teams ever tried to pull fast ones on signing weird free agent hold outs come the playoffs. Not that he would get big minutes anyways.

My friend was at the COL game and took a pretty good action picture of Vermette -

Yeah I just don't understand that. For me, one of the main points of acquiring a player like Vermette was to take at least some of the pressure off Toews defensively. Even if he's struggling to score, putting up up points, he can at least do that. Like, I don't understand how someone like Versteeg has been playing on the PK over him. That makes no sense whatsoever.

Because you have to know a system a little bit more than to be trusted out there for even a couple moments. I think his problem was saying he found it difficult on how much Q wants his centers to do and be familiar with on the ice. He should be getting adjusted by now so I would of thought he can be a PKer to adjust to play on it with Kruger. But Nordstrom playing over him isn't a great choice, hopefully regardless of outcome it shifts game 2.

It would help if he were played at his natural position that he's played well in his entire career instead of being moved to wing.

No shit. Let's take a guy that has played center his entire life, and move him to the wing.... It seems like a no-brainer to me, to use Vermette in a shutdown center role and as a PK specialist. Instead, he's playing wing and being expected to carry offensively struggling players. I just don't get it. There is no logic here. Even if he's not playing well, he's a better option than Versteeg and fucking useless Nordstrom.

I mean, how does Shaw or Richards play center over Vermette????? What the fuck kind of bizarro world is this?

Giving a person less responsibility, less difficult tasks to worry about isn't hard to understand logically. I don't get how that's missable.

I think/heard Vermette's hand is hurt and that wasn't helping his faceoffs.

When I'm pooping in the pool

Hold on a second there, sparky. I'm formally declaring shenanigans on this post. How doth one poop without simultaneously peeing?

Hey, everybody, this guy's a phony!

It's missable because Vermette is a better center than both Shaw and Richards. If you are moving players to give them less responsibility, and less difficult tasks, you move them first.

And that doesn't even touch on the fact that he may be scratched tomorrow....for a guy like NORDSTROM.

Their issue isn't mental it's physical. It's who they are, you don't have visions of them being differently. Vermettes seems like a more mental issue so you try to give him less to have to think about on the ice.

Playing a position he hasn't played in a decade isn't giving him "less" to think about. I can assure you of that.
