If they pair Rundblad with Keith, like they'd been doing with Rozsival, I'm significantly less worried about him costing the Hawks anything significant.

He is 3rd on the team in +/- behind Hjalmarsson and Toews.
He's 24 fucking years old and not an old slow dinosaur like Timonen or Rozsival.
He will see 15 minutes a game and not impact the team negatively.

The fact that Rundblad is 3rd on the team in +/- should show you how poor of a stat it is. The only thing Rundblad has going for him is he has a solid shot from the point.
So far in the regular season he has shown he is prone to poor turnovers, is afraid to go into the corners, and isn't strong on his feet.
Hoping he turns it up for the postseason but he didn't have a stellar regular season, regardless of his +/-. I'll certainly be rooting for him to have a good game 1.

i understand your concern, sounds like he's a guy that could jeapordize positive momentum. As a Hawk Writer, do you have any stats on momentum shifts caused by this young player?

Scotty Bowman once said that +/- is a pointless stat unless it is 15 points once way or the other. I think I'll trust someone with 9 Stanley Cup rings.

Plus/Minus tells a story...but not the whole story. It is a stat but not one you should hang your hat on and use as the be all/end all.
