Also, are they going to have an actual Bear playing behind Rosario? I think an actual bear should be able to beat him out if it's just blocking assignments. Polar? Grizzly? Any preference?
What you got a problem with black bears?

Besides the total lack of an OL... Acho will be outside... Bostic probably makes the team... Louis-Jean and/or Hurst probably make the team. .... The UFDA NT from East Carolina probably makes the team.

Sent from my davenport using my teleporter.

Need another D Lineman bad. With only those 7, you're basically guaranteeing Washington, Sutton, or a UDFA (Williams) getting a decent amount of snaps. Those are 3 guys who should be fighting for a roster spot on a good NFL team. Even if Houston and McPhee play snaps on the DL, you're an injury away from one of those 3 being the top backup on the line. McDonald really helped that part of the depth chart look better.

Shea and Jones in the middle could work.

My guess is McPhee and Houston will be playing a lot of snaps on the line.

I think the front 7 has an incredible amount of versatility. Young, Allen, Mcphee, and Houston can all get after the QB from multiple spots. On the line, we've got some question marks, but Ratliff is a known commodity... If Ego and Goldman play as well as we think they can and Mcphee and Houston occasionally play on the line, I think we will be OK. Foster was a solid pickup, he and Jones are both decent in coverage... Bostic and McClellin are average, but serviceable. If Young and Allen are able to adjust to their new positions, the LB corps will be fine.

However, the secondary is my biggest concern and seems to get very little discussion... Fuller still has a lot to prove and his first year wasn't as impressive as many here seem to believe. He needs to make some big strides this year in order to live up to his draft status. I think Mundy could play pretty well and still has a something left in the tank. The rest of the team is pretty bad... Ball is average, Porter and McManis are below average. Jennings and Rolle are old and fading fast. Amos and Vereen are completely unknown.

The front 7 has questions... There were a lot of 'ifs' in my first paragraph. However, the secondary is just bad... No questions there.

ND is horrible.
QB: Cutler, Clausen
RB: Forte, Langford, Carey, Rodgers
WR: Jeffery, White, Royal, Wilson, Bellamy
TE: Bennett, Miller, Annett
LT: Bushrod, Leno
LG: Slauson
C: Montgomery, Grasu

RT: Mills/Fabujule

RE: Ratliff, Washington, Sutton
NT: Goldman, T. Williams
LE: Ferguson/Jenkins
OLB: Allen, Bass, Young
MLB: Foster, Bostic
MLB: Jones, McClellin
OLB: McPhee, Houston, Acho
CB: Fuller, Ball, Jennings, McManis, Louis-Jean, Glenn
FS: Rolle, Amos
SS: Mundy, Vereen

Seems about right....that back 7 could end up being a complete disaster or serviceable, it really depends on how some guy's health goes and how Rolle and Mundy age and whether they can find an average guy to pair up with Fuller as a starter in base.

Sutton at NT???

Sutton's career as a Bear is on life support after the move away from the 4-3. He's a one dimensional 3-technique player who will have to bulk up to play the nose or he 'll have to find another team. He struggled with added weight in college and I imagine it will hurt his NFL game even more. Barring something unforeseen I could see Sutton cut after training camp this year or I could see him struggle to earn playing time and then be cut after next year. He would have to completely blow up and succeed in an unexpected way to remain on the roster, he's simply not a scheme fit.
