Marlins got 1 off Hammel in the first. The Cubs got one back on the Bryant double and Montero single. Castro has the day off.

Russell made a rookie mistake at short. Missed a pop up in foul territory because he lost it in the sun. He had no sunglasses on. Can not do that with the high skies at Wrigley.

How does Lester not see the benefit (offensively ) of having montero catch for him over Ross ?
Not like montero a young starter and doesn't know how to call games plus being in NL (Dbacks ) , he more familiar with most of hitters then ross..

Offensive struggle again. ..

With LF being the only position they can upgrade on this deadline, it sure be nice to see them add someone who can give a bit of spark to offense. .

Coughlan has been fine and you have Baez. Fowler has been trash the past two months.

Cubs do nothing with runners on again. Bryant may have a double today, but he is not right at the plate. Missing hittable pitches. Montego blasted one straight at Dee Gordon.

Bour hits the go ahead home run. Only two Marlins have hit since Stanton went down and they both went yard today. Makes my head hurt.

I dont think baez set to return to action til mid late Aug.
So, most likely wont see him til late Aug. Or sept call up

I could live with cogs only if maddon moves him to the 2 hole
HE an obp guy, he does no good for offense batting 6 or 7 in front of pitcher hitting 8th..

I agree with Fowler but just dont see them moving him

Baez should be back in AAA within the next couple of weeks.

This lineup is so bad. Koehler has like a 5 ERA away from Miami and is horrible in day games. He is an ace today.

Saw 4 to 8 weeks, didn't realize its been almost 4 week already

So yea if he comes back next couple weeks, rehabs well and dont get traded then yeah he could join team first couple week of aug.
