To open the annual Circus Trip, the Hawks head up to Canada to face the Oilers, who've struggling mightily without top pick Connor McDavid in the lineup. Edmonton sits in the Western Conference basement and I see no reason why the Hawks should do anything to help them get out of that spot.

I been having the same question.... idk why the fuck they would play an 8:30 start on a weekday.... but that is what it showed in the Comcast guide.

Crawford vs Nilsson in net. For those that don't remember, Nilsson was a part of the organization (acquired in the Leddy trade with Isles) but didn't want to re-sign when he was a RFA this past summer.

Well he didn't want to come over to North America to play in the AHL. He wanted a team with a NHL opening.

Correct - he stayed in the KHL for the entire year the Blackhawks had him. Would have been nice to have a little organizational depth at the AHL level. I've watched a few Oilers games and Nilsson has looked pretty good at times. Oilers' defense are not giving their goaltenders much of a chance at times though.

Well, Alberta does have a lot of oil. So I guess the Hawks could just take some drums of oil back on the plane with them.

Hoping for a full 60 minute effort and Hoss/Toews continuing on their upswing.

Hoping as well that the Breadmaster/Buttery Pat line goes into full-on assault mode and looks to bury the Oil D/G and not going for the cutesy goal.

An ENG is an upswing for him thus far this year.

Plus, he looks better with Dano...just like Hossa. Unlike those who thrive on being butthurt, any player playing better than their usual trend is a good thing. Toews is no different.
