John Lackey vs. Steven Matz

Someone can post the lineup when it comes out. I wont be around until later. Off topic but Kershaw got put on the DL.

Highly recommend listening to the 670 interview with Tony Massarotti, who wrote about Kris Bryant one of the worst baseball articles I've ever read. Matt Spiegel makes him look like an absolute buffoon, and rightly so.

Bonus points for the first person to guess which frequent CCS Cubs poster sounds most like Massarotti...

The typical east coast basis was pretty easily shot down in that interview. I actually felt kind of sorry for that guy. He really came across as a dolt.

This is one of those series that feels way more important to the psyche of Cubs fans than it will mean in terms of baseball truth. I expect many overreactions: "We learned that the Cubs can beat the Mets pitching staff! Nothing can stop them now!" or "OMG the Cubs are going to get swept in the playoffs again! How many young SPs can we get for Kris Bryant?!?!?"

The only thing I'm interested in seeing is if this Met staff has the Cub's number or if last year's playoffs were the bats going cold in unison as we've seen them do from time to time. They seem to be swinging the bat well lately, so let's see. But then again, the jump from the Reds staff to this one might be blinding to them.

It was more that the Mets staff was historically great for a few weeks in October. The Cubs just ran into them at the wrong time. They tried to pitch the Royals the same way they pitched the Cubs, and got smoked. Epstein talked about it pretty extensively before the home opener.

I love reading posts telling us how dumb we are based on things that haven't been said.

A strawman argument and insults all in one.

My first thought on checking the score and box score just now was "how will writer bash bryant for his loopy-swing K while ignoring a 2 run HR?"

"He's no Pujols." Wow, what a slam.

The guy is a dolt as you so aptly stated it.

I direct your attention to the Cubs gameday threads for the past two weeks and rest my case.
