LMAO..

Yea he hits mostly singles cause he not a damn slugger..
He a little contact hitting CFer..lol

He a career .288 hitter with a .359 OBP and a .739 OPS

This year mainly as a platoon OFer
He hitting .291 .381 OBP .762 OPS all above career numbers..

Yet you wanna shit on him because he doesn't hit a ton of EBH...lol

As far a his defense goes..
He has 0 errors in 110 chances this year and only 8 errors in 1751 career chances..

And for the times he may have made a bad read on balls, He has made a shit ton of great catches ..
So no he not a GG OFer but he far from sucking ass out there..

though he been starting a lot for the cubs, he not someone a playoff team would look to have as an everyday starter.. but yes he'd be a very good 4th OFer who when you do play him he not going to be an auto out , he gonna be productive in a lineup and get on base for the most part..

That what you want in a 4th OFer..
You're not gonna find CFers that hit a ton of homers and doubles sitting on bench as a 4th OFer..
their gonna be starting

You want to pick on a guy for not slugging.. turn your attention to the 6'5 240 pound RFer who has just 9 HRs and a .379 SLG %..
Frickn 5'11 195 pound Jay has a higher slugging percentage then him at .381..

Jon Jay is playing far better than anyone ever expected him to play....MOF, I'd say the Cubs would be hard pressed to be anywhere near where they are without him. The other guy has this hate thing going on about him...and he's blinded by it. Is Jay a flawless player, of course not but that's not why he's here. I think if you asked anyone in the organization about him, they'd say he's doing everything they hoped he do and more.

But....you are dead wrong when you use a player's size as a parameter for power hitting. Size has nothing to do with it....there are countless big guys with low HR numbers and smallish guys with big time numbers. Here's a example....Frank Howard 6'7" 260 pound man with 382 lifetime homers and then we have Mel Ott with 511 homers in an era not known for a lot of HRs.....all 5'9 and 170 pounds of him.

I agree with the size thing..

My point to him there is he ragging about the guy only having 2 homers yet the big RFer that plays every day only has 9 and he says nothing about that if Slugging/ Hrs means so much to him that it's one of the things he dislikes about a little leadoff hitting CFer..

Heyward. 388 SLG
Jay .380 SLG
Zobrist. 375 SLG

Of the 3, I'd be more upset with Heyward and Zobrist lack of power over Jay

Baez out for a couple innings already cost a run.

Yep, sure DP ball if the idiot holds his position.

Edit: That AB was a thing of beauty as well. I guess not very guy they bring up will help.

99.9% of time Schwarber comes up late as tie or lead run, he expands his strike zone and either Ks or pops out swinging from his heels..

Like I said yesterday..
Having to use up all those relievers yesterday, could cost them today in a close game..

Ended up with Pena pitching the 8th in a 2 run game..

So far he given up 2

If the cubs were winning they woulda probably went with Davis. I don't think yesterday had much bearing here. Bats just didn't show up.

Maddon said pre game Davis was out today...

He mentioned a couple guys not pitching today..

Davis Duensing Edwards

Not that it mattered cause the bats sucked...But

It's not a binary choice. Saying Jay is unproductive is not saying Heyward is.

But Heyward is as good drfensively at his position asany player in MLB is at theirs.

Jon Jay can't track a flyball with GPS. And you use "gold glove" in your description of his play.

Where would they be without him? Do you understand "production"?

Enough I won't rag on your poor defensive guy, as he is obviously an offensive juggernaut. Done!

Meanwhile.....anyone care to explain why Joe conceded the game after 8, down 3-1?

Senseless to put in Pena there.

Threw in the towel.
