Idk, it’s a question of has Fuller put it together finally, or is this a good scheme for him, or is he just overachieving in an obvious contract year?

The contract year is a big ???

But, the guy really hits hard which isn't consistent with a guy just upping his game to secure a contract. It's just as likely to end his season!

I don't understand why they did not pick up his option on his 5th year. Sure he was hurt and not playing at the highest level, but if they had exercise the option, what exactly would the drawback be?

Is the 5th year option expensive, I honestly do not know?

The 5th year option is ONLY guaranteed due to injury. And with him coming off being injured, that was a risk the team didn't want to take. If he stays healthy for the last few games, he will have earned a new contract. And that contract will come with guaranteed money, which is more than he would have made with that 5th year option anyway, but still gives the team more cap room as well.

Win-win..
