White guy. FCS school. Projected to go in later rounds.

Seems like the perfect second round pick for Pace.

Shaheen went right about where he was rated based on other players

I want Sutton in the first and Kirk in the second. Target Ansah in FA, I know Sutton is not a popular pick at 8 but I think he will make an instant impact and provide the greatest upgrade to a position. This is of course if Chubb and Fitzpatrick are both gone.

I think Sutton is my top WR in this draft as well but if Nagy tries following the Chiefs offense then he might want that smaller speedy WR which isn't what Sutton is. If Meredith comes back to full health then he can be that bigger go up and get it WR for us so it would be nice to have the speedy guy playing opposite Meredith. I really like A.Miller in the 2nd round and think he would be a perfect fit to play opposite Meredith and use K.Wright or D.Inman in the slot. Of course all this is way too early anyway cause free agency comes first and we will more then likely get a legit WR there.

Because every time I start to type in 1st rounders the Kevin White nightmares start.

I'm now gun-shy AF. Troy Williamson, also taken with the 7th overall pick 10 years before White, was a total bust. I'd kill for White to match Williamson's career production (87 REC, 1,131 YARDS, 4 TD) for the BEARS before he's out of the league.
Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't the Bears take David Terrell at 7 or 8? So I can see why you're gun shy. I am too.

He's a damn good corner and he is a dynamic returner. As an alum, I watched nearly every game this season. The second round would be great for him but I'm not sure that's an ideal value for the Bears.

I was going down there for the Georgia Tech game but it was cancelled because of the hurricane.

Did you go to UCF's national champions parade at Disney??

There are so many good WR's taken from the 2nd round on down. Just since 2010:

2010
Golden Tate - 2nd (60)
Brandon LaFell - 3rd (78)
Emmanuel Sanders - 3rd (82)
Eric Decker - 3rd (87)
Riley Cooper - 5th (159)
Antonio Brown - 6TH (195)
Victor Cruz - UDFA

2011
Torrey Smith - 2nd (58)
Randall Cobb - 2nd (64)
Doug Baldwin - UDFA
Chris Hogan - UDFA

2012
Alshon - 2nd (45)
Mohamed Sanu - 3rd (83)
T.Y. Hilton - 3rd (92)
Travis Benjamin - 4th (100)
Jarius Wright - 4th (118)
Marvin Jones Jr - 5th (166)
Cole Beasley - UDFA
Jermaine Kearse - UDFA

2013
Robert Woods - 2nd (41)
Terrance Williams - 3rd (74)
Keenan Allen - 3rd (76)
Marquise Goodwin - 3rd (78)
Markus Wheaton - 3rd (79) (Was decent for PIT when he wasn't injured)
Kenny Stills - 5th (144)
Adam Thielen - UDFA

2014
Marqise Lee - 2nd (39)
Jordan Matthews - 2nd (42)
Paul Richardson - 2nd (45)
Davante Adams - 2nd (53)
Allen Robinson - 2nd (61)
Jarvis Landry - 2nd (63)
Donte Moncrief - 3rd (90)
John Brown - 3rd (91)
Martavis Bryant - 4th (118)
Allen Hurns - UDFA

2015
Tyler Lockett - 3rd (69)
Chris Conley - 3rd (76)
Sammie Coates - 3rd (87)
Stefon Diggs - 5th (146)
Cam Meredith - UDFA
Eli Rogers - UDFA

2016
Sterling Shepard - 2nd (40)
Michael Thomas - 2nd (47)
Tyreek Hill - 5th (165)

2017
JuJu Smith-Schuster - 2nd (62)
Cooper Kupp - 3rd (69)

And 1st round WR's

2017
C.Davis--5
M.Williams--7
J.Ross--9

2016
C.Coleman--15
W.Fuller--21
J.Doctson--22
L.Treadwell--23

2015
A.Cooper--4
K.White--7
D.Parker--14
N.Agholor--20
B.Perriman--26

2014
S.Watkins--4
M.Evans--7
ODB--12
B.Cooks--20
K.Benjamin--28

2013
T.Austin--8
D.Hopkins--27
C.Patterson--29

2012
J.Blackmon--5
M.Floyd--13
K.Wright--20
AJ Jenkins--30

So obviously there was some really good ones that went in the 1st round especially 2014 but definitely more busts that went 1st round then studs. It's kinda crazy to look back now and see where some of these WR's were drafted that have been average or bad and stars were drafted later then they were. Like T.Austin getting drafted with the 8th pick and D.Hopkins going at 27 in the same draft.

Yeah we took him with the 8th pick in the 2001 draft and Reggie Wayne went #30 in the 1st round of that draft.

Just wondering.
I have a question regarding drafting a receiver high. Do you think that, unless there is a transcendent, can't miss talent such as a Julio Jones or Calvin Johnson sitting there, you should avoid taking one in the top 10? I mean there have been really good ones taken top 10 over the last few years - Evans, Cooper, Green come to mind - but none of them really have that IT factor that changes the game the way Johnson and Jones do just by stepping on the field. And if that otherworldly talent isn't evident the absolute worst thing you can do is overdraft one. For this reason I think drafting any of the wide outs in this draft in the top 10 constitutes a serious reach.

Memphis WR Anthony Miller is a stud. Would love for the Bears to draft him.

The 2014 draft is an outlier. Fact of the matter is, first round WRs historically under perform. I'm cool with taking a WR if we somehow manage a trade down scenario but in no way am I taking one of these WRs top 10.

Allen Lazard is a guy we should keep an eye on. Despite playing for Iowa state, he's been a solid WR. He's big, great hands, good routes. He is projected rounds 3-6 and I assume his draft stock will come down to his forty time. Would be a great pick in round 4 is he falls that far.

Would be awesome if we got Allen Lazard in later rounds.. Big possession receiver with a great work ethic and great attitude. Decent speed 4.6 for a 6-5 receiver. Watched him play a lot of games the past 2-3 years and he catches everything thrown at him and knows how to box out the cornerbacks.

Two guys I like in later rounds are Jaleel Scott and Deontay Burnett

Scott is tall as fuck and good at contested passes

Burnett is a quick, great route runner

Looks like Nagy will want speed and quickness from the WR's. Doesn't look like size is a big requirement for his system.

no, but good route running and quickness, not necessarily speed, would be nice to pair with 6,6" receiver.

Good players can be had in UDFA. That doesn't mean you should build a team out of UDFA. That thinking reminds me of the justification Bears fans used for justifying having crap QBs forever. But at least those crap QBs didn't hurt our record drafting super stars in the first round.

Randy Moss #21
Marvin Harrison #19
Keyshawn Johnson #1
Terry Glen #7
Michael Irvin #11
Al Toon #10
Jerry Rice #16
Calvin Johnson #2

It's not like if Jefferieses was taken in the first round he would've magically sucked. White doesn't have glass bones because he was drafted in the first. That is fan superstition.

And a first round bust does not hurt the future any more than any other bust hurts. Whether White was taken in the 1st or he was taken in the 2th he would be the same waste of a roster spot either way. He would still be a position that needed to be filled.
The only difference is it's easier to cut a 7th, which is a good thing since it needs to be done so often.

Yeah buddy, I live in Orlando. My nephew played high school ball with Gabe Davis and Brandon Moore and I got to know them pretty well so I watched every game.

I really like Chark, I think if he runs sub 4.5 he will shoot into the second round. I also like St Brown but his QB play is so bad you just can't tell, but if he runs well he could move up.
