We are all gripping onto the edge of our seats waiting for the next NFL season to hit, obsessing over the draft that just happened, thinking about pre-season, and wondering what the NFL spreads have in store for us when the next season comes around.

So, let’s take a break from obsessing about what the future holds and instead think about what happened before. Take a trip back in time to remember some of the most epic moments in the history of the Super Bowl!

Let’s go!

What Are The Most Historic Comebacks?

So, we don’t want to just think about the best moments of the Super Bowl, instead, we want to think about the moments that had us biting our nails, unable to look away as we saw comebacks so insane, it almost seemed impossible.

We could list a million things, but instead we will focus on the top 6 historic comebacks!

#1. Patriots Vs Falcons: Super Bowl LI

We have to start with this one, it has to be the most notorious in the history of the NFL.

The Pats were down 28-3 into the 3rd, and it was looking really grim. Pats fans were sighing, bettors were adding up their losses, it was bleak.

However, amazing Brady and his team went hardcore and scored 5 straight drives, made up of 2 touchdown drives with successful conversions!

It sent the game into overtime, and was tied at 28. *Cue nail-biting*, the Pats won the coin toss and received the ball. White then scored a touchdown at 2-yards to bring the team to win as they deserved!

#2. Patriots Vs Seahawks: Super Bowl XLIX

Next up we have another Pats comeback. In Super Bowl XLIX the Seahawks were winning 24-14, and Brady answered quite rightly with 2 clutch touchdowns in the 4th.

Remember, Brady was fighting against the Legion of Boom in this game, and it was a tough one.

The Seahawks had the window to win a touchdown at the 1-yard, but Wilson intercepted to Butler in what we can only describe as being one of the most insane, and infamous, plays of all time.

In the end the Patriots had an epic 28-24 win that perhaps no one had expected given how things had gone in the first 3 quarters of the game!

#3. Saints Vs Colts: Super Bowl XLIV

Drifting away from the Pats for a moment, let’s think about the Saints.

The Colts were their opposition and they had started off with a pretty strong game, they were winning 10 nothing against the Saints, but the Saints offense answered their 10 points with a straight-up 13, taking the lead back in the 3rd.

They traded pairs of touchdowns and eventually the Colts were down by 7 points. Manning had the opportunity to lead the team downfield for a winning-drive for the team. However, God must have said something to him.

What Manning decided to do instead was throw a pick-six which ended up making the end score 31-17, a brutal slaughter for the Colts!

#4. Washington Vs Broncos: Super Bowl XXII

In Super Bowl XXII The Broncos were doing well 10-0 against Washington after only the first quarter, and things looked to be going well for them.

However, the future Hall of Famer Elway got in the way of their dreams and threw 2 interceptions in the second, this set into motion what could only be described as a complete and utter devastation.

The Broncos did not score again and Washington came out on top with a final score of 42-10!

#5. Giants Vs Bills: Super Bowl XXV

The Giants have a few comeback stories, but this is one of our favorites

They were down 12-3 just as half-time came knocking when they were playing off against the Bills.

New York saw the potential disaster and managed to grasp at a three-and-out, getting to the end zone, and cutting it down to 12-10 as they reached half-time.

Then by the time the 4th came around they had an amazing 20-19 lead, having jumped up another 10 points. However, this is when the gold struck.

Kelly gave kicker Norwood the opportune moment to nail in a 47-yard shot, while there was a measly 9 seconds left.

The shot went wide right and the Giants stole the game.

#6. Giants Vs Patriots: Super Bowl XLVI

We finish up with another Giants’ victory story, and bring the Patriots back into it.

Here we have two legends, Brady and Eli Manning. Quite the showdown.

It was basically a rematch of XLII, and the Giants found themselves up against Brady.

The Giants were down 17-9, and it was really rough, with Brady on the opposition, the Giants fans were weeping already.

However, they managed to close up this 8-point gap to 17-15 in the fourth quarter.

Eli set up a defense that stopped Brady in his tracks, and he led his team into a touchdown drive in the final minutes of the game, with so little time left, Brady couldn’t answer, and Eli and company took home the Super Bowl 21-17.

It was a good day for anyone who likes betting on the underdogs.
