The Chicago Bears have a long history with former Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers. While he hasn’t faced off against the Bears since 2022, Rodgers hasn’t let the rivalry die.
The quarterback remains a free agent after his disastrous run with the New York Jets. He has been heavily linked to the Pittsburgh Steelers, but nothing is official until his signature is on the dotted line. Still, Rodgers made it clear what teams he won’t be signing with in 2025.
He shut down any chances of playing for the New Orleans Saints, who are in need of a quarterback after Derek Carr’s retirement. Then, he was asked if he would ever play for the Bears. Take away the rivalry, Rodgers would never consider Chicago as long as Caleb Williams is in place. But he decided to have some fun with the young fan, via Adam Schefter of ESPN.
“No, but I believe there’s a team that might play in Chicago this year,” Rodgers said about playing for the Bears. “I love Chicago, though. Way more than they love me.”

Rodgers didn’t stop there. When asked why Bears fans claim, ‘it’s their year every year,’ the quarterback simply went scorched earth on the franchise, via the You Know What I Mean podcast.
Aaron Rodgers trolling a Bears fan bringing up how they claim every year is their year 🤣😭🤣
“What does every coach that signs with the Bears say? We gotta beat the Packers right? The Packers don’t give a shit” 😂

“The best thing about Bears fans is every year, ‘This is our year. This is our year. We added this guy and that guy. We’ve got a new coach from Detroit … Oh man. Look out,'” Rodgers said. “Packers fans, we know that, right. And what does every coach that signs with the Bears say? ‘We’ve got to beat the Packers, right?’ Packers don’t give a (expletive).”
Aaron Rodgers’ history with Chicago Bears

Rodgers has gone 24-5 over his career against the Bears. He completed 67.3 percent of his passes for 6,965 yards, 64 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. Furthermore, he won eight out of his last 10 meetings against Chicago. Throughout his tenure with the Packers, Rodgers served as the Bears boogeyman.
Things have not gone as well in recent times, but Rodgers’ legacy lives on in Green Bay. Over his 18-year tenure with the team, the Packers made the playoffs 12 times, winning the Super Bowl in 2010. In turn, the Bears have made the playoffs five times since 2005. Chicago won the NFC North only four times during Rodgers’ tenure, with one of those season being his rookie year.
Rodgers facing the Bears as a member of the Steelers will feel a bit different. However, Chicago fans surely want to get some revenge after both his comments and overall play in the North. If/when Rodgers signs, that becomes another must-watch game on Chicago’s schedule.
The Bears don’t mind the trash talk, as their quarterback situation is fully figured out while Rodgers is a free agent. But Chicago certainly wants to prove themselves if they ever get a chance to face Rodgers again.
